Thanks to Libertine!

Hi,

some years ago I had an interesting discussion with "Libertine" who is on this forum. Well, I just wanted to publicly thank him, because his perspective has stayed with me ever since. And now I have a girlfriend (after a long long trial & error period) who lets me tickle her, who is great and we get along so well. And I think it was also because Libertine in his posts always says that one just has to try, try, try and meet people and never give up. And that is exactly what I did, even though it was very hard at times and I wanted to give up many times. But in the end again it just really worked. And this is so crazy to me. So I don't know if he sees this, but many thanks, you influenced me in a very good way. And it showed me that if one just is open and tries to meet new people, not always does it work, but there are these rare instances where everything seems to come together. Kind of crazy. But a very good feeling right now. 🙂

I am glad to hear that you succeeded in meeting someone special. Libertine has given the same advice to many people, both on the TMF and on FetLife, and I believe that it is sound advice.

Hello Ichbins. This is Libertine's wife. He thanks you very much for your kind comments and wishes you well. I am writing on his behalf because he has been banned from the 'Tickling Discussion' part of the TMF because there were those who complained about said advice. Apparently, people had been "reporting him" and found his comments "trolling or demeaning". Now, I personally don't see what's demeaning about telling people to get out there and meet people IRL, as I'm one of those people who naturally prefers the real world to a keyboard.
I suppose my opinions are a tad biased, because as it happens it obviously worked for us, since we met IRL in an Internet cafe, doing entirely vanilla things, sitting at adjacent computers. He started a conversation and we've been together 20 years and counting.

I'm just glad that you took his advice to heart and found it helpful. I hardly ever come on the TMF anymore, but a good friend alerted us to this post.
