Well I took some time off from TMF, life has a knack of getting in the way, but the last time I wrote about The Bar was Last August. Diane, a lady in her early 50's is the owner/manager. She decided it was time to put in a new kitchen, and refurbish the interior a little, so she was closed for several months. We(the regulars) would briefly stop by from time to time to see the progress but basically stayed out of the way.
Diane opened the bar in mid January, never had a grand opening per se, didn't need to, all the regulars showed up, and by word of mouth old and new customers came also.
Anyway, this one Saturday night the place was packed. Us regulars claimed our usual table early, except mountain man Ben wasn't there with us. Now Ben is in his late 60's we think, always wears overalls, logging boots, and an Indiana Jones type hat, or sometimes a ball cap. He has a full white beard a la Santa. He loves tickling and tormenting Diane to insanity as she's incredibly ticklish.
Well we're sitting at our table, the place was noisy, people talking and laughing, except from time to time we would hear this deep hysterically laughter coming from a far corner, but couldn't see who was there. Also didn't see Diane as her staff were serving at the bar and tables, so we figured she was in the office.
So here we were, slogging back beer from a local brewery, and hear HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA from the back corner. About every 5-10 minutes we'd hear the laughter, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It was about 11 pm and people were thinning out. Then NO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. STOP,NO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. We still couldn't see into the corner as a booth was blocking the view. The laughter continued off and on and when midnight came, the bar had mostly emptied out, most of the staff was gone save for one girl cleaning up. Now we could hear more clearly. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, stop, I'm ticklish, you're tickling me HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
OK, now we had to go see what was going on. Well there was old mountain man Ben and Diane, he had her kinda trapped in the corner, her bare feet in his lap,she was laughing and squirming all around in her chair. She looked at us and said, "he's been tickling me, driving me crazy!" Ben grabbed her foot, brushing his beard on her soles and toes, saying "coochie coochie coo!" Diane was smacking the table with her hand, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No, not that, it tickles it tickles HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Ben stopped when he saw us, and let her foot go. Diane said "OMG, he was tickling me to death, the old bastard, I invited him in early to try out our new beers and he was up to his old tricks!"
Turned out Diane wasn't completely innocent, she had a few beers too, hence her absence in the bar. She got up and went to lock the place up, we regulars went back to our table to finish our beers. Diane sat with us for a few minutes until we left. She giggled, "that old fucker is going to tickle me to death one day!"
As we were going out, Ben grabbed Diane's ribs briefly. "HAHAHAHAHAHA, awww com'on, I'm ticklish" she blurted as she pushed him out the door.
