the "baseball only" thread

Today's results were sickening, and erased the game that the Dodgers gained on the hated jints yesterday.
If I were a Dodgers fan ( I am not obviously ) I would be more concerned about the Padres as opposed to worrying about the Giants. The Giants are behind you. The Padres are in front of you. :wow:

OK then, the Pondscum are leading the Braves 2-1 now, but the game is not over yet, it's the 8th inning. Go Braves!

I know that score. I am really happy that the Padres are beating the Braves this weekend. How are you Mils? :couch: 😀

Obviously, I am rooting for the Pondscum, the Dickheads, the hated jints, and even the lowly Rockheads to lose when they play outside the NL West.

I had rooted the Dodgers for 2 weeks but your team disappointed me several times. So now that your heads have been handed to you today I will root you on against the Marlins tomorrow while I hope my team can help you against Arizona and San Francisco this week. :happyfloa

I will certainly be rooting for the Mets when they play in Arizona and in SF. 😀

Today, for the Mets against the Nationals, I didn't care one way or the other.

I know you didn't care. But I certainly cared that the Dodgers got their heads handed to them in 2 of the last 3 games.

You may or may not care that I went to Coney Island today and saw the Brooklyn Cyclones rally from a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead, blow that lead, and rally from 6-4 deficit with 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to win, 9-6, over the Aberdeen Ironbirds. 😀

That is cool. How do you like that ballpark? I really do not pay attention to the minor leagues.

It is a very nice little park, with a good view close to the field from most seats. Also, it has a better variety of food for sale than at Shea Stadium.

This is good to know. One day Sadira and I must go to New York when the Dodgers are in town and "take you out to the ballgame". 😎

The Cardinals beat the Pirates 8-3. Chris Carpenter becomes the majors first 18 game winner. Carpenter has to be considered the top candidate to win the National League Cy Young award.

What is this "baseball" you are talking about? Will it help me in my quest for world domination? 😀 😀 😛

Any things possible General. Hopefully you are not a Cubs fan, as they haven`t dominated anything since 1908. :cry1:

The Dodgers host the Rockheads tonight, while the hated jints are idle. 😀

Cardinals win again, taking 3 out of 4 from the Pirates. It was a historic night for Manager Tony LaRussa as he moved passed Sparky Anderson for 3rd place in victories. He now trails John McGraw and Connie Mack.

Hard to catch Connie Mack, he managed (the same team!) for more than half a century. 😀

John McGraw has 2763 wins and Connie Mack has 3713. Tony LaRussa has 2195 and counting. Its doubtful he would catch either of those two. LaRussa has done a very good job this year, as the Cardinals have had so many injuries.

Of course, I hate John McGraw, since he managed the hated jints.

No, I was 7 years old the last year that the Dodgers played there, too young to go by myself, and my parents were Yankee fans who took me to Yankee Stadium.

I have a friend who is an aquaintance of Johnny Podres. I hope someday to have a chance to meet him and hear some stories about his days with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
