Here we are only 11 days before spring training games start. ( Not that I care about that ) But this means that the start of the baseball season is just 43 days away. This is great.

Do you guys recommend any good baseball books to read? I have a couple of the Ernie Harwell books, 'Diamond Gems' and 'The Babe Signed My Shoe' (great read BTW).

Keep the faith!!! The Tigers will be better this year. As for books, if you come to the Michigan gathering on March 3rd and 4th, I do have some sports books ( in particular baseball ) that you are welcome to check out.

Are you into local ( as in Tigers ) or just about baseball?

All sports. More baseball, hockey, and pro football. Then college football, very little basketball (Pistons in the playoffs, March Madness). But I don't watch as much now. However I can hold my own when it comes to sports trivia, history and nostalgia.

I read on Fox Sports that Kerry Wood has NO TIMETABLE to return to the Cubs. Frustrating the heck out of Sadira.

Nobody knows if Eric Gagne will be healthy at the start of the season. I suspect not. 🙁

I would think that the Dodgers would win that division though Mils with or without Gagne.

I certainly hope so. It will likely be a weak Division again.

It will be stronger with Bonds back in San Francisco but you guys made a ton of GREAT moves. Sadira and I were talking about your team the other day and she thinks you guys can win that division by 10 games or more. I myself happen to agree with her assessment that you guys will win the division but I believe it will be in the 4 to 8 game range.

As far as Bonds is concerned, I still don't like him. It remains to be seen if he can stay healthy all year. At his age, one thing or another may act up on him.

No arguement, but if he is in the line-up for 130 games he has to be considered a threat.

Baseball lost a legend today as Curt Gowdy passed away. He was 86. There is a post in general discussion about it.
