Well the New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants at Shea by the final score of 5-1. The Mets got a great pitching performance from Tom Glavine who went 7 2/3 innings and gave up 1 run on 9 hits. Had 3 k's and walked 0. Mike Piazza kicked in with a 3 for 5 and 2 RBI to help the attack. Mets are now 29-26 on the year as they came into the game only 1 game back.

Tigers are tied with the Orioles 7-7 in the 6th inning and the Twins are leading the Yankees 3-2 in the 8th inning.

For the second time in 3 days, Drew and Kent had back-to-back home runs as the Dodgers beat the Brewers. Those were the only runs we got yesterday, but it was enough, 2-1, with Gagne getting the save. 😀 😀

Right Now , the Tigers are losing 6-2, Red Sox lead 3-1, Rangers are leading the Royals 4-0, Yankess lead the Twins 2-0. In the National League, Pirates lead Braves 5-2, Marlins and Nationals are tied at 3.

Twins club the Yankees 9-3
Rangers crush the Royals 8-1
Indians and Chicago are tied at 3-3 8th inning
Tampa Bay 4- Seattle 1 4th inning
A's are hammering the Blue Jays 12-2 in the 5th inning.

In the National League
The Nationals beat the Marlins 6-3. The Nationals right now are in first place.
Phillies sweep away the Diamondbacks 7-6.
Pirates beat the Braves ( and knocked them out of first place ) 5-2.
Astros defeat the Cardinals 6-4
Rockies are beating the Reds 5-4 in the 7th inning
Dodgers knocking the Brewers around 5-1.
Cubs and Padres no score in the 3rd inning.
Mets and Giants are tied 1-1 in the 6th inning in the first game of the doubleheader.

He piched well early but could not get clutch outs and allowed Brent Tomko to hit a bases clearing double in a big spot was Ishii's downfall. Game one belongs to the Giants as they stop an 8 game losing streak. Giants 6 - Mets 3. Game two in an hour on ESPN.

You are right. It should be a great pitching match-up with Kris Benson going for the Mets and Jason Schmidt going for the Giants. Mets need a win to prevent falling into last place. The Giants have not swept a doubleheader since they swept 3 doubleheaders in 2000. So it's the Mets and the Giants in 45 minutes on ESPN.

I always watch the Sunday night game on ESPN

Unless there is a really good game I will not as a general rule. Unless the Mets are playing or it is an important game that effects play-offs positioning late in the season.

But of course I always watch it when it's a Red Sox game
