On-Line Personals - and How Great This Site Is

I don't know if I am posting this under the correct category, but I wanted to see if I could help get this thread going a little bit, so I'm posting it here:

I remember some years back (before the internet, no jokes from you Youngun's!), it was actually easier to meet right away with women who shared my love for tickling. I would place an ad, say in the Village Voice, and found a few fun ladies that loved tying and tickling as much as I did. But anyone replying had to leave you a voice mail, you had the option of recording an outgoing greeting, where the caller could hear your voice...so you didn't talk only about the tickling like you would die if you didn't get some, you would explain how romantic and thoughtful you were, etc. etc...although some guys do say that in their ads here, you can't hear the sincerity in the person's voice. Then there are the women you do meet on line, who refuse to talk on the phone for safety reasons, stating that they want to chat on line and get to know each other first. I always felt that was stupid, because you don't know who is on the other end of that computer, so are you truly getting to know them?

The funny thing is, this site breaks the mold on my idea that you cannot learn anything about a person from reading typed words on a screen alone. I have been a member of this site for a long time (used to have a different name), but was mostly just just lurking and reading, and didn't get involved much. Most of you have no idea who I am, but I feel like I know a lot of you from reading about your lives on here, and I would trust you to hold my wallet. I have also started to post a lot more, it helps me to de-stress after work. Basically, I guess I have finally come out of the lurker closet. I have also done some "growing up" over the past couple years, so maybe it just felt like the right time to begin to interact the right way.

I want to thank the mods for all their hard work :ty:, and thank all of you for welcoming us crazy people into the TMF family. My girlfriend is now a TMF newbie (and lurker!), TickleGirl77, and we have met a couple of really cool people as a result of the personal ad we placed here (apparently it seems less creepy to people when you are a couple and not a single male). It is also fun to type in updates of our more recent activities as she gets into the tickling world. I should warn you, before anyone goes running there to see what we posted, it did end up becoming just a little bit sexually explicit...sorry if anyone gets offended by that sort of thing.

Ok that's it for now, we hope to meet more of you in the future and are considering a trip to Philly for NEST 2010, if we pass the background investigation of course :smilestar. My name is Keith, and it's a pleasure to be a part of this community. It feels like home sometimes just logging in, and it would be horrible if the site ever had to be closed. Thank you, MTP Jeff, for everything you have done for all of us, for so many years.

PS: Does it seem like a lot of lurkers are coming out lately, or is it my imagination??
 
Well feetandtickling welcome and glad your not just lurking anymore. I am sure you will find many people here are trustworthy unless tickling is involved lol. This is posted in the silly forum though I think you would have gotten a bigger response if you had put it in General Discussion. I had the pleasure of meeting a few from here a few years back at a gathering and I had a blast. I went to a smaller one in Albany I think Nest is the biggest one and hope to make it there next year.
