The Tigers are 3-2 since I posted the schedule. Big wins over the White Sox on Monday and Wednesday. It looks like the party is over for the White Sox. Oh and Natural, I thought the Tigers weren't making the playoffs. As usual, being the Cubs fan you are, you don't know what you are talking about. 😱

Odd, with 11 games left, det losing tonight and twins currently losing 4-0, didnt know for a team thats 5-4 games behind the wild card that it ment the party is over

Sox play last 3 games against the twins, they need to only have a win differential of +2 over the twins then sweep the twins to take the wildcard
Also, tiebreaker game will be played in chicago should one occur

and the way the tigers are backing into playoffs right now, dont look for much fire\drive come the playoffs

Right now, should the sox get hot and run the board, it will be nearly identical to last year of getting hot at the right time

Let me update you. Your magic number is now 4 to be eliminated from the division title. Since you lost at home tonight 9-0 to the Seattle Mariners, I really do believe that the party is truly over. Your team has lost 7 of its last 9 games. Now you expect them to run the table??? Sweep Minnesota in Minnesota??? Are you kidding??? Sorry Goodie!!! I like you and respect you but your team will not be part of the postseason this season. As far as backing into the playoffs, correct me if I am wrong but didn't they just smoke you in your house??? How can you say they are backing in after they beat your guys on your ballfield. And who is in first??? I didn't know a team that has been in first place since May can all of a sudden back in when NOBODY has overtaken them.

Magic number is down to three for the Tigers ( pending the outcome of the White Sox/Mariners game ) to make the playoffs. The magic number to clinch the Central division for the Tigers is down to 8 as the Twins were beaten tonight by the Orioles 7-3. Funny thing is the Tigers won by that same score over the Royals. Right now they are in the 8th inning in Chicago and the Mariners are leading 8-6.

The White Sox won earlier this afternoon in Chicago. They came into today with their magic number for elimination at 4. The Twins are winning in the top of the 9th 7-5 over Baltimore in Baltimore. The Tigers are looking to make it to the playoffs this weekend. Their magic number for entering the playoffs is at 2. By the time this game is over it will be 1. The Tigers game has entered the bottom of the second with the score the Tigers 10- Kansas City 0. The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first inning. They sent 16 men to the plate and just are overmatching the Royals. I can only imagine the smile that was Kenny Rogers face as he took the mound in the bottom of the first inning. By the way Rogers is looking for win number 17. So the Tigers will continue to hold a game and a half lead of Minnesota. The magic number after tonight for the division will be 7.

I will simply state this: Who doesnt beat on the sCrUBS? There is a reason why they remain the joke of MLB with apathetic fans and being run by andy mcphail(fail) and will resume to be a doomed franchise till they get a new manager and dump the messiah(prior) and kerry "Balsa" Wood

I have to note, the Whitesox are only 1.5 games behind them and the Sox are currently 5-1 against the tigers this season. Teams can do whatever outside of the division but what counts most is interdivisional play and losing maroth aint helping them. Yes i am biased but it will be the sox owning the division again, with arguably the best 3-4-5 hitting combination in baseball with thome-konerko-dye.

As for good feeling, i wouldnt say this is late in the season, we're about a month away from the halfway point and right now they are breezing thru a real easy schedule with pujol-less st louis, houston is streaky but then pitt. The biggest part of the season will be july-aug when the sox play the tigers 12 times, that will determine the division

And to quote Sox grinder rule 71, "If at first you succeed, Repeat"

What happened to the grinder rule??? And how many games do you trail the Tigers by now??? What happen to the easy part of the schedule??? What happen to you guys being 5-1 against the Tigers??? Fact is, they took 2 out of 3 from you in Chicago when they ABSOLUTELY needed to. You may have finished 12-7 against them this season but it will obviously not be CLOSE enough to give you a division ( being 7 games back with 6 to play makes it IMPOSSIBLE ). Bottomline, nobody took this Tigers team seriously. I have been say since mid-April that they could make the playoffs and on May 3rd, I actually proclaimed that the Tigers would make the playoffs. Even Tigers fans looked at me cross-eyed. Now I am a HUGE Mets fan and always have been. But I follow baseball and I just knew this Tigers team was for real. Are they going to win it all??? If the Mets are in the Series, I hope not. 😛 But I also think that this Tigers team ( as well as the White Sox, Twins and Indians ) will make this division the toughest division in baseball for the next 5 or more years. Goodie, the White Sox had a good season ( it was not 2005 ) but your team despite not going to the playoffs this season will contend for quite awhile. And they can NEVER take 2005 away from you guys.

Talk about limping in!!! What a terrible week of baseball the Detroit Tigers played. I guess they felt that making the playoffs was enough for them.
