I have not rented or bought a horror movie in a long time. The last one i bought was Saw. So last night i rented The Devils Rejects (Rob Zombie's follow up part 2 to House of a 1'000 Corpses) and along with that i also rented Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (Part 2 of the original movie Ginger Snaps). I have not watched Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed yet though.

So far i have only watched half of the movie of The Devils Rejects. And what a trip it is if you thought Rob Zomibes first film House of a 1'000 Corpses was one wild ride of a music video setting. Then this one is like 10 times that. It's the unrated version so it's all in this movie naked bodys and blood and gore. It has a pretty solid cast in as well it even has Diamond Dallas Page in it as well which i was very surprised to see really. I have not gotten to his character yet in the movie though. The movie is like a drive in movie but without going to any drive in. Rob Zombie is a real fan of horror movies he has over 300+ horror movies so this sequel to the House of a 1'000 Corpses is sick and twisted.

So far it's a good movie. (But then again i'm a fan of horror movies)

Wow, i never even knew there was a Ginger Snap 2 Film... Never even heard of those movies too... Lool Say, you're a fan of horror movies? Me too, and i was wondering if you could give me your opinion on a movie that i was planning on watching with some friends the: Darkness Falls. Anyone? Thanks.

The Darkness Falls movie is pretty predictable and a short film it's only 85 minutes or so. But it did have some pretty intense interesting moments in it. But it would be way better off to rent this movie if you have nothing else then to buy it.

Thanks for the info Butterfly Wings!! :imouttahe I was indeed planning on renting it. Although i've been having a though time find that movie in my nearest video clubs... Lol

Your welcome Dario Filipe!!

Rent Ginger snaps as well (if you can). Great film. It's a were wolf flick.

Other than the ending, DR dissapointed me cuz i went into it expecting the similar story to the first. Yes DR was less of a horror movie and more of a storyline with it but, i place 1,000 corpses above devils rejects, but freebird gives it alot of points

Yeah after now just watching the whole movie. The ending was rather dissapointing i must agree. I thought that Baby,Otis and Captain were going to escape like in the first one. Which would include a third installment then if they did i hope. But now since they all died in the ending, then who knows about a third movie in the works?

But this one was way more storyline driven then the House of a 1'000 Corpses. But who knows Rob Zombie still might find a way to some how make a third installment.

REST IN PEACE Matthew Mcgrory

I think u misread my statement, i said other than the ending, DR dissapointed me, i loved the ending, most beautiful ending sequence ever, especially with freebird playing.

Devis Rejects actually romanticizes being on the run from the law. It looks like Otis, Baby and Captain Spaulding are really feeling more alive than ever while death chases them across the country. My favorite scene is when Terry Reid's The Way You Should Be Treated is playing and the 3 are shown having every kind of fun possible in the *****house. 😎

That's my favorite scene in the movie as well. I still think though that Rob Zombie should make another installment of this. Even though he might not be one of the top director names in horror at all. I think that he could branch out and make a name for himself in the horror genre. Since horror fans turned horror directors know best more then anybody else as to what the fans want to see.

I think R.Z. is gonna make a prequel to House of 1000 Corpses with the origin and crimes of Doctor Satan. If the prequel to Texas Chainsaw coming out does well then Rob most likely will make some kind of prequel to his work. One thing is for sure...Baby, Cap. Spaulding and Otis are D-E-A-D so any movie with them cant have them surviving. They died like the rebels they are. Cool! :bowing:

Most prequels are not good from what i hear. But with Rob Zombie at the helm i'm sure that he will make the prequel to House of 1'000 Corpses worth the ride for fans. And i'm sure that he would do a good justice to TCM as well. The old leather face movies rocked. I wish Rob Zombie or some other up and coming good horror director would make a long lasting series (similar to leather face or jason). Thier have been countless spin offs to jason and leather face down the tube. But none of them have been that great.

And pin head!! 🙂

Sigh, u can only make so many movies loosely based on ed gein

And this is a bad thing?

Yes because i like somewhat of originality and difference in plots. Plus people hear "inspired by true events" and they get all giddy in the pants.

There is nothing really original though or ground breaking left. Is thier? it's all been done many times over

And now horror remakes are becoming the new thing. Japan and Asian horror films though are at least somewhat original and fresh. But once something is done in one horror movie some other director is going to copy it or add thier own little spin to it. And the only ones that see inspired by true events are teenagers and little kids. I know i don't get all giddy when i see the words ''inspired by true events'' on a horror movie. I just watch it for what it is and that is a horror movie.

Horror remakes are coming out in spades because quite simply they make money. What did you expect? Actually House of Wax was excellent thanx to Elisha Cuthberts stellar acting. Besides look at the crapola thats come out from "original ideas" The Cave, The Island, Green River Killer and the host of serial killer movies at Blockbuster. Not quite a good evening of entertainment I can assure you...I saw the Island last nite when my girlfriend rented it. Luckily were still together!!! :wowzer:

Green River Killer

Funny you should mention Green River Killer because i was going to rent that a few nights ago at Hollywood video. But i ended up rented Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed and The Devils Rejects insted. I don't mind some remakes because infact they give a new spin on the original copy of the movie so you get a fresh new taste and ideas that the director wanted to go for in the remake. But most of them are not too good or decent at best. Night of the living dead in 3D now that should be an interesting idea. 😀
