DOC tor de MEN to! DOC tor de MEN to! DOC tor de MEN to! Whooo! Whooo! Whoooo!

Ah, the days of the good doctor! Remember?

Mention Doctor Demento to the new generation. Nay, they knowest not of which you speak!

But those of us who have been around the block a few times, yes, we know.

So, what were some of your favorite songs from the show? Mine are, in no particular order:

Kinko, the kid loving clown. Still think of it every time I see a Kinko's commercial.

The balad of Irving (142nd fastest gun in the west).

Spam.

Hamster Love. q-ball keeps telling me it's a sick song, but he laughs, too.

They played "Uneasy Rider" once or twice.

And the classic "Who's on First" routine by Abbot and Costello!

Those who remember, what were your faves?

Roly poly fish heads, eat them up, yum! My favorite is "I'm Looking Over My Dead Dog Rover." There was also a song featured in Mad magazine that he played called, "It's A Gas", which featured various bodily emissions.

They're coming to take me away ha ha! And I'll be happy to see those nice, young men in their clean, white coats, and they're coming to take me away ha ha! Dr. D DID have albums too, ya know!

I've seen the CD's but just haven't bought any yet... hey, that reminds me... I'll be back.

"Along Came Jones", "Shaving Cream", "They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha", and "Hello Muddah Hello Fuddah" all rank in my favorites!

I used to listen to the good Doctor every Sunday night on my way to work. I remember "Dead Puppies", "Existential Blues", "Pencil-Neck Geek" by Classy Freddie Blassie(there was actually a reply sequel to this) And for us laughter fans, he would occasionally play "laughing records" from the 20s and 30s, which would just feature people cracking up for 3 minutes. It sounded like these folks were being tickled to death.
Demento also did his 20 most demented videos on MTV back in the late 80s.

Just remembered

Song for World War III*,

Masochism Tango*,

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park*,

My Name is Larry

The Vatican Rag*,

National Brotherhood Week*,

Oedepus Rex*

The Chemistry Song*

* That Tom Lehrer sure gets around!

Star Trekkin Across The Universe
Marvin I love You
Shaving Cream
Der Fuher's Face

Star Trekkin

and Fish Heads (they used to play this during Bills/Dolphins games at the stadium)

My wife left town with a banana. Love's a rotten deal!

I found that yellow devil hiding in her purse. He was cold, he was hard, but he had a peel (apeal).

I hope this never happens to you. Some fruit breaks your marrige in two.

My wife left town with a banana. My baby's slippin' away.

(Short musical interlude)

My wife left town with a banana. I'm a jealous man.

She found a six inch latin lover, now she does the tango with her right hand.

And right now I could just die. He's eating my banana cream pie!

My wife left town with a banana. My baby's slippin', my baby's slippin', my baby's slippin' away!

Daddy, what's a double entendre???

I HATE this song!

But, despite my amazement at having missed this thread before, I've always been a quick recoverer...

Julie Brown's (the real one, not that idiot from MTV) "Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun"

Kip O'Donnell's "Wet Dream"

And I can't believe that nobody's given Weird Al Yankovic any love here! Give it up for Da Man!

"Weird Al" also did a disco number called "Gotta Boogie". It's not what you think... "Gotta boogie... got a boogie on my finger and I can't flick it off..." He's entertained Kings and Queens, you know.

Weird Al is the KING of silly songs and parodies. No person in existance will ever top some of the amazing work this guy has done. I've seen him in concert several times, and I will go see him 100 times more if he comes to the area again. He is an entertainer in every sense of the word. Funny thing is, though, my favorite song of Weird Al's was NOT one of his parodies, but rather an original. The song is called "When I Was Your Age", and it's a great guitar rock song about the crap our parents fed us growing up (walking in 6 feet of snow barefoot, eating dirt for supper, getting rocks for xmas sort of stuff...VERY funny).

"Wet Dreams"! I forgot about that one! That's another goodie!

And I forgot one of the greatest of all: "The Streak"!!

"Pardon me sir, did you see what happened?"

"Yeah, I did...half-time. I was just going down there to get Ethel a snow cone. Here he come right out of the cheap seats! Dribbling right down the middle of the court. Didn't have on nothin' but his PF's! Made a hook shot and got out through the concession stand. I hollered up at Ethel, I said 'Don't look Ethel'! It was too late. She already got a free shot! Grandstanded, right there in front of the home team!"

"Here he comes again! Look! Who's that with him? Ethel! Is that you, Ethel??? What do you think you're doing? You get your clothes on!!! Ethel, where you going? Ethel, you shameless hussy!! Say it isn't so Ethel! Etheeeeeeeeeeeeeeel!!"

Mimi 😀

Yeah, Meems, Weird Al was great, but the best song he did was a parody of Crash Test Dummies Mmm, Mmm, Mmm hilarious stuff😛

Re: ARGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Which is EXACTLY why we treated you to a special rendition of it during the play party~Hee! 😛

XOXO
