The 'embarrassment' response to tickling : Men versus women

I am not embarrassed about being ticklish. I do believe it could be my weakness only when others find out you are ticklish they will always tickle you. I would be nervous if some found out and then I get tickled a lot lol. My husband is also very ticklish and he definitely does not want to show that he is outside of us lol. It could be because he is in Law Enforcement and with his size, 6’2 and like 240lbs, tattooed and pretty muscular, he would definitely see it as a weakness lol….. that’s my two sense

He is definitely not more ticklish than me but he is very ticklish. No, I’ve never tickled him really bad

I can see that to a lot of people here, not admiting ticklishness is somehow part of the play or even pride. I understand it's related to the dom/sub mindset. Probably it's because for many people tickle fetish and bdsm fetish mix up in a unique thing and tickling is only seen through a fetishist, and a sadomasochist perspective. But I don't think people in general see tickling directly as a form of domination or a "bad" thing. I mean, the ideia that "tickling is a torture!" is more of a "fun fact" and a popular joke. It's not psychological violence unless it is actually forced. So I think most people are embarassed about admiting simply because it's something intimate and personal. And also people simply deny being ticklish to discourage more tickling.

And I do believe men are less confortable about it.

most males i have know (not into tickling and ticklishness, just regular ppl) find it very embarrassing being male and rlly ticklish, many always denied it in the past

I'm not embarrassed, it's just funnier to me to hide it as a man who's given concerned looks on the way to work depending on how I'm dressed that day 😅 I also like to win things, so people finding this out about me can sometimes feel like a defeat of sorts. Once the info is out there then so be it, but yeah I'm ngl I really like to hide that fact and feel I do so pretty well hehe 🤫

EDIT: Thought about this for a while but I take it back. While I really do just think it's funny to hide it I'm ngl I'd be a little embarrassed if I were found out in public depending on how many people were around and who they were lol

have u never been embarrassed or even self conscious about ur ticklishness tho? cause i hardly know any guys who werent at some stages in their lives at least a bit, and woukd deny being rlly ticklish if asked as they didnt want to be seen with such a weakness

You'd be surprised of how young a person is when they develop a fetish. My foot fetish developed when I was only 4. First it starts off as a mere curiosity (as infants are always exploring and curious about everything), then it unknowingly becomes an interest of theirs, and finally starts to solidify as a fetish when they're about 10 onward. I can see a scenario where you're reading to the kids while wearing striped fun socks, and one of them notices your toes moving back and forth like a worm, and them curiously grabbing or pinching your toes causes you to giggle while struggling to read. I'll admit that's cute because they'd be having a playful moment with you. 😆😍

Obviously, it's not a fetish when you are that young! The fixation and taste for tickling and feet later becames part of the sexuality, or maybe not. People can enjoy tickling and it not be a fetish. That's why, as we said, men usually enjoy tickling and feet only in a sexual/fetishist way, while there are many women who enjoy tickling, or even feet!, also in a "natural" way. Probably 'cause men tend to be raised to associate and feel most of physical display of affection and any physical atraction though the sexual prisma. (sexual doesn't necessarily means penetration)

Anyway, you may be born with the fetish, but it grows later. Also, the fetish is shaped through the years by experiences, cultural references and, later, pornography. Many of us were born fond of, but not that much fond of tickling.
