The world of Laria is a fantasy world filled with the usual things one would expect from a magical, enchanted world. Mythical creatures roam about, demons and devils terrorizing the humans, multiple races from groups and subspecies have their relationships with other groups (good or bad), and people living their lives in a Medieval-like setting.

Some adventurers travel around the world to see the many things that they have not seen before.

There are summoned heroes who come into this world with grand expectations to save mankind from the [Demon King].

Some warriors seek battle and glory, wanting to be known throughout the world for their grand accomplishments.

Some wish to seek the ultimate source of knowledge.

Some people just want to have a peaceful life with no care in the world about the dangers to come.

And there's much more, yet our tale is on a dungeon.

Yes, a dungeon.

These areas host many foul things or good things depending on their dungeon master. Some dungeon masters are living beings. Others are just a dungeon core.
Dungeons can be controlled or have their own free will, helping or hurting the area that they are in. Even if someone conquers a dungeon and destroys it, many more will appear throughout Laria.

Most beings suspect that these dungeons were a gift from the gods, giving the mortal realm a way to live and thrive. There are groups that deny this, stating other things such as a test or how someone mortal had left pieces of an ancient past.

Despite these speculations and theories, everyone in the world tends to use these dungeons on a day to day basis.

As the narrator, I could go into detail about all of the nitty, gritty technical stuff...

But let us cut into this long and ever-expanding story with our [Dungeon Core].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the mountains, residing in a single cave, a bright gray diamond-like item floats in the middle of the room. It lets out a low humming sound, trying to figure out... its existence.

It knew what it was, but it was trying to figure out what to do exactly. Other than its own body light filling the room, it was mentally communicating with the Dungeon Network. It was like an online site that can answer most questions. Things pop up in front of its mind, showing examples of the various dungeons throughout Laria. Some were violent, some were passive, some were perverted, some were... just bad. Some had a mix of everything.

The [Dungeon Core] was looking through all of the various examples before it asked for some outlandish things. Things that weren't from its own world. This was not the first time a [Dungeon Core] or [Dungeon Master] requested such a thing. The Network allowed the [Dungeon Core] to look at things outside of its universe.

Hours upon hours, days upon days, the gray [Dungeon Core] starts to glow... a dark red.

It found something it wanted to do, changing its neutral tone. It opened up a box that explained how to start up your dungeon.

It starts to spend its Dungeon Points (DP) to get more of it. This was what the box says about getting DP:

There are many ways to get Dungeon Points.
Common Methods to get DP are as follow:
-Finding natural resources within your Domain
-Providing your service to visitors
-Construct a structure that can provide DP
-Have your creations go out and get stuff from the outside

Other Methods to get Dungeon Points:
-Conquering another Dungeon
-Destroying and/or Capturing another [Dungeon Core] or [Dungeon Master]
-Enslavement
-Having a Town/Settlement/City/Faction/Race worship you
And more...

Spending most of its points expanding outwards, it hoped that it could obtain some natural resources. Or something of value. The [Dungeon Core] expanded its influence and domain in a controlled manner. Somehow, the core was aware of where the outside was, making sure that its selection was getting close to that particular area. As the core select the area around it, the place seems to be randomly generated. It had the same rock stone cave environment, but this was not here originally. It was as if the gods were adding random rooms into this dungeon. After a few minutes, the core had received a couple of metallic veins, refunding the DP it spent. Or a good chunk of it. What caught the core's attention was a group of monsters.

A message notified the [Dungeon Core] with this:

Because you are a [Beginner], anything you have found before opening up your domain will automatically be under your command and can be created in your [Creation] tab. When you go to that tab, you will then go to the [Monster] option. From here, you can select the monster and customize them with what you have or gain.

Note: Certain functions and/or customization can be locked if you do not have the knowledge or items to make it happen. There are an endless amount of possibilities, but you will need to make sure to fulfill the requirements.

The [Dungeon Core] opened up the Monster Tab, seeing the slime monster it could create.

There are a lot of options, but most were locked behind needed... things. These requirements vary depending on what they wanted to do. It could increase the size, but the price was rather high for just one slime. It did change the color from its natural blue tone to a red one and its common function. It could make a slime do so many dangerous things, but it did not fiddle with those functions... for now. Finalizing it, the [Dungeon Core] mentally hit the Confirm button.

A sudden light burst in front of the [Dungeon Core].

It created its first monster.

The [Dungeon Core] stared at its simple creation.

A red slime. Its size was close to a cat.

[Red Tickler Slime]
[Level 1]
[Cost: 3 DP]
A slime made to attack and tickle any being who enters the dungeon.

The [Dungeon Core] eyed at the blue slimes. It did not order them to come to it, but they did it on their own accord. Nine blue slimes waited behind the red one.

[Blue Slime]
[Level 3]
[Cost: 5 DP]
A slime that can absorb, gather, and attack.

The core gaze at its invisible currency floating in its view.

102 DP

Looking through its options, the [Dungeon Core] knows that it has to buy several things before it can generate more DP and do what it wants to do. The problem was if this was enough for its initial stage. If it can survive-

It flushed out those doubts immediately.

It spent most of its points expanding its domain, making a decoy [Dungeon Core], making more red slimes, and building a secret spot for its real body.

There are two big rules dungeons must abide by or else they will be terminated.

They must be accessible. There must be a path where any invader/adventurer/being can follow and find the [Dungeon Core] and/or [Dungeon Master].

There must have a way to communicate.

As a [Beginner] and an actual [Dungeon Core], the system (or the beings that oversee all this) had given a magical blank slate beside its decoy. It can project the core's thoughts and messages with ease. Now, the first rule, it technically was following that rule. Yes, it was hiding it's true [Dungeon Core], but there was a path to go to its secret room... if anyone can find it. It wasn't that hard to find it.

This was just some assurance incase the first encounter does not go well.

It only had 27 DP left.

It has to spend 25 DP to open its dungeon up into the world. The core can feel the outside world through one of the walls.

The [Dungeon Core] ordered its creations to get ready, telling them what to do. There were so many things it did not know about.

But one thing for certain, it wanted to do what it read and saw from that other world.

Once the slimes got their orders, the [Dungeon Core] executed the command.

The core can feel the sudden connection into the world, the message asks it:

What is the name of your dungeon?

The [Dungeon Core] happily gave it...
