Heard this on the morning news. I've always thought 'mouse' was a rather odd name for this device, but I don't know, what else would you call it? R.I.P. Mr. Englebart.

How is it odd?

If looking at a normal mouse, it's got a shape like a mouse, and the cord is the tail.

Years ago when the mouse was invented, it must have seemed pretty revolutionary. Weren't light pens the dominant pointing device back in that day?
