Thank you all.
One of the joys on this side of the drawing board is to see how folks react to a piece once its posted. Sometimes a concept is interpreted in unexpected ways. The fact that this particular piece invoked such empathy is a testament to Mr. Fetish, who it seems, has transcended a niche fetish comic character to someone that is well loved, and folks project themselves onto him deeply. And it is also a testament to the great depth of compassion of this community, that you transposed those feelings onto Mr. F's creator. I was surprised and very appreciative of your sentiment, which has made the installment more powerful than I ever intended.
I'm a little embarrassed to mention, and not to be anticlimactic, but the original idea was merely inspired by a rainy afternoon, coupled with trying to capture stereotypical English melancholy and so-called 'quiet desperation' (as Pink Floyd once coined); which in my opinion is not a negative, but rather perhaps, a strong motivation to get out and explore the entire world. Which, to their credit, the English did in a very grand way from their cozy little island home.
And there were a couple of other items I wanted to drop into this small strip; I wanted to show that it is okay to have a fetish and not feel beholding to it 24-7. It is okay to just "be." I also wanted to underscore that Mr. F's play partners are quite willing participants, if not, as shown, quite enthusiastic at times.
My heartfelt thanks to you all. I assure you all is well here, and there are plenty new surprises on the way. So now... 'back to the drawing board" as it were.
