The latest History Channel bombs.

I always thought that even in their heyday, HC showed programming that was dumbed down just a bit. The real, significant historical programming was always on PBS. And, it still is.

Oh, no doubt about that. The History Channel has to appeal to a wider audience obviously, so they can sell advertising time. But, I try to look at it like this; America: The Story of Us was a decent series and if it sparked an interest in history by someone who might not have cared before I'm all for that.

That said, I tuned in a few nights ago and was greeted by a show set in a taxidermy shop in Alaska I think. Nothing against taxidermy, but on The History Channel?
