I finally got around to watching this movie, and i have to say, i wasn;t disapointed. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Not a great movie, but a good movie. I didn't really find it scary, per se, but i deffinitly enjoyed it. I thought it had a very Lovecraftian feel to it, which i suppose isn't too surprising as Lovecraft has been one of King's inspirations.
I also picked up on a lot of the things that inspired the Silent Hill games, like the fog, the pterodactyle thing in the first video game, and the air raid sirens. Something else which is kind interesting, if not a bit Ironic, is that the blond in the movie, the one who plays the third grade teacher, is also the actress who plays Cybil Bennet in the SIlent Hill movie. I thought that was an interesting, and IMO great choice for one of the Chars in the movie.
My only complaint is that i didn't like the very ending. I understand it, like i understand how the choice could be made, but i just didn;t like it. People have meantioned that the ending in the story is different. Perhaps somebody could tell me the ending of the story in a PM. I would hope it would be better.
