A man walks into a bar filled with Navy men. He notices that all the Navy men are wearing different types of hats, with different insignias upon them.
Curious about this he first approaches an American and asks him what the USN insignia on his hat means:
"United States Navy," replies the American sailor, proudly.
Our hero -- with little better to do with his evening -- next approaches a British sailor and inquires as to what the HMS stands for on his hat.
"Her Majesty's Service," the sailor replies ever so proudly.
Moving on to an Italian sailor, the man with the insatiable curiosity about hats and their true meaning in life, inquires as to what the AMB stands for on his hat.
The Italian sailor stands up and proudly announces to all within earshot: "Ay, Atsa Ma Boat!"
This joke has been dedicated to all those sweet souls who I find myself starting to bump into here at the Hotel TMF. (I hear that the Polo Lounge actually has hot and cold running feathers. Any truth to that?) isabeau, bellystrokes, steph, mimi...to quote -- or rather, horribly misquote a famous line, from a famous musical: "I've grown accustomed to your threads."
