The New York Mets - NL East Champs

Yeah, I am sure it is not an attack. Did Carpenter pitch better last night??? Yes, he did. Did he win??? No, he did not. Your other stat of 0 for 31 was 2 for 5 last night. What do I think the Mets chances are??? Better than the Cubs chances of advancing to the 2006 World Series. That is what I think. But then again, this coming from a man who has been saying the the Tigers are a mirage. Well that mirage is waiting to play the World Series while your team is just waiting. Not an attack??? Sure you're right!!!

It wasn't an attack, as other baseball panel people have been saying the same thing. All I was doing was expounding. We are not talking about the Cubs, since that's all you have doing anyway, and keep in mind you can't say anything new. Now if you can't discuss without getting personal, may I suggest you think before you type.

The Cardinals will win tonight, then we'll see how much talking you do then

Congratulations to the St.louis Cardinals as they will be making their 17th World series appearence as they defeated the New York Mets tonight by the final score of 3-1. The Cardinals used a great pitching performance by Jeff Suppan and a 2 run homerun by Yadier Molina in the ninth inning to defeat the Mets. The Cardinals are going to the World Series. Congratualtions to the Cardinals and all of their fans. Final score from Shea Stadium in New York, the Cardinals 3- the Mets 1. The Cardinals win this series 4 games to 3.

If you are taking it personally, that is your problem dude. Get over it. Fact is, I will talk. You know why??? Because I have a better team history in 45 years and as many Championships as you do in 132 years. So if you don't like what I have to say, then stick me on ignore. :ermm:

Who Cares? We Won, &#@$!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooo! Nl Champs! Go Cards!!!!! Someone change the title of this thread OMG!

Orange, congratulations to you and your Cardinals. They played very well.
To my friends Mufusa, and 4u, as a Braves fan who has suffered many a postseason meltdown, I feel your pain, gentlemen. It was a great series, and a positively awesome Game 7. I thought the Mets had a legitimate chance right down to the final strike. They had a great season, and dethroned my Braves, and, I think, will be right back in the thick of things in 2007.

Mitch

What a series! Who would have thought Molina would be the hero. His batting average this season was only 216. The bottom of the 9th was pure drama. All I could think about was Adam Wainwright giving up a game winning home run to Beltran. It would have been 1951 all over again. Ticklingfeet4fun, as a longtime Cardinals fan I know how you feel. I have had my heart broken more than once in postseason. The Mets had an incredible season, and will be heavy favorites to win in 2007. Congratulations to your team. :cool2:

Just how #$%^&*@ bad do you have to pitch NOT to be put back in when you have the title "Closer"?

I think Randolph didn't want to be second guessed and it cost them the game.

A travesty of management,imo.

Well Q, Heileman had pitched a great 8th inning, and the bottom of St. Louis's lineup was coming up, and he figured he'll save Wagner for extra innings if necessary. But that wasn't the decision that costed him this game. it was the decision to put up Floyd in the game, when he could have easily put Glavine in to bunt the runners to 2nd and 3rd, and have Reyes and Lo Duca try to bring them in. That is the decision that will haunt him this postseason

I am not the one taking it personal, and besides, I would never give you the satisfaction of putting you on ignore. There are other ways to ingore you, dude :ermm:

Okay, Mr. I haven't seen my team every win a World Series. Let's say everything happens the way it happens after Glavine supposedly bunts. Second and third and one out. Jose Reyes still lined out hard to center. A run would not have scored. LoDuca would still walk and Beltran still struck out. Mets fans were thinking three run homerun. Were not thinking bunt. But a Cub fan thinks like a loser. That is why they are losers. It is going to haunt him??? Just like 1908 haunts the Cubs.

And just how sure are you that a run would not have scored?? Nothing wrong with taking chances, and besides, did you really think a gimp like Floyd was gonna hit a 3-run homerun???

Mets.....best team in the NL??? HA!

Because it was a line-shot that Edmonds was running in on. Even if the run scores, final score was 3-2. Yes I thought Floyd could hit a 3 run homer and you picked the Cubs to win the World Series. So who exactly deserves the HA!!! That was a joke pick from an uneducated fan. At least my pick was a little more realizistic. Unless you think winning 66 games was going to get you to the playoffs.

Uneducated fan huh?? Again, I guess you're the smartest thing since sliced bread. Well, that was an attack on my intelligence, to which I don't even think that's even worthy of a response. But that's okay, though, you don't know any better

Then where did picking the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series come from??? The embarrassment from the north-side of Chicago continues for 98 years and counting. And you were expecting a World Championship??? If that wasn't you attacking your OWN intelligence, then what is??? By the way, expect the Mets to continue to be going to the playoffs. Can we say that about the Cubs??? No!!! The Cubs have only made the post-season 4 times since 1945.

Just because I pick my team to win every year does not make me uneducated. Yes, my teams didn't do well, but never confuse hope with being educated. As far as playoff teams go, that was the first since 2000 for the Mets. don't act like you've been there every year. and do not act like that's gonna be an every year thing for you. Damn, give your team a taste of the playoffs and you don't know how to act :ermm:

and I'll add this on for starters: just because someone doesn't think the same things you do, or opinions doesn't match yours, does not make someone uneducated. think about that

Gentlemen!!!! Take it from a life long Redsox fan.....It is only a game.....and there is always hope until the last out and then it's "wait until next year....

No need to get nasty guys...... :woot:

Sice 1969 the Mets have been to the playoffs 7 times. The Cubs since 1945 4 times. There is all the thought I need. 24 presidential elections since the last World Championships, while the Mets have won at least in my lifetime. And unless you are 120 years old to remember the Cubs last World Championship, you don't know what it is like to win a baseball's World Championship. And if you don't want your intelligence called into question, then pick with your head and not hope. Because hope is definately not an educated pick. So I will confuse hope with being educated. Because the Cubs have about as much chance to win a World Series as you do winning the Lottery. In fact, I would say your odds of winning the Lottery is BETTER than the Cubs winning the World Series. 😛

Ray, I am not getting nasty with anyone all is good in the hood.

I am just making a point that my intelligence will be questioned by nobody on any subject. just getting that across.

Besides, TF4F is my buddy, and we have out disagreements from time to time

Ray, that Cubs fan is actually my best friend. As frustrating as that sounds. He actually is my best friend. Imagine that guy with Sadira and I driving with him to see Steph in California. That was an adventure. He is a great guy and lots of fun. Let's Go Mets!!!
