I observe that the Dodgers are now 6 games behind the Padres with 20 games to go. Not impossible but not likely either.

I observe that the Dodgers are also under .500 and the reason for that is because they lose to teams that are under .500

I observe that you are probably right. But it should be interesting with you having to root for the Giants in at least 7 games that they have to play against the Padres.

I observe that I posted in another thread how I deal with such a situation:

I seriously have dealt with this situtation before, situation being that the Dodgers are in 2nd place or 1st place, in a pennant race with team X, in 1st place or 2nd place, and team X happens to be playing the hated jints.

As of today, that is the situation, with team X as the SD Pondscum.

What I do is root for the Pondscum to lose, sorry about who will have to win to make that happen.

I recall a game in 1983, in the exact same situation, when team X was the Atlanta Braves. In a game against the hated jints in September, the Braves led by one run in the late innings. The jints had two men on base and two out. The game was televised on WTBS.

I said to the jint batter on the screen, "Hit a home run, you motherf***ing jint c***sucker."

He did, putting the Braves behind by two runs.

I said, "Thank you, you c***sucking jint motherf***er. Now that you've rounded the bases, drop dead."

That's how I do it. 😀
