Darn fine race today. Most especially had to enjoy JJ's car troubles. I was a bit worried that JG was heading for a good finish, but the last minute spin showed karma in action :D. Tony was doing so well and driving like such a mature veteran, I was so proud. Old tires led to a lower finish than he should have had, but he still got himself into the top ten in points and that's awesome.

Mark Martin ran a quiet and classy race as usual. I'm still thinking we keep our eye on him this year.

Sometimes I think I just want to lock myself in a room with my tv and watch races all the time. No other people, no other commitments, just pizza being delivered throught the window. Oh, and beer. Yeah, that's the ticket.

make that cheap champagne and you have a deal... and btw lk i am never sick of you hon

How about Gordon's little display after the race with Kenseth. I damn near died laughing, thinking Gordon was gonna start a sissy slap fight. I say good for him for what he did to Truex.

Once again, Bristol has failed to disappoint me. Damn, I love that track!!!

I almost went back to edit my post when I realized I failed to mention this. My god, he might as well have had pig tails in his hair. Pansy.

...at least Gordon is smart enough to have his helmet on when trying to start a fight... :evilha: :evilha: :evilha:

Hi CTTkkLvr - yes I suppose smart is one word. Isabeau said the others. You know who Gordon reminded me of with that big giant helmet on that scrawny little body? You know that alien in the Warner Bros cartoons? "i'm going to blow up the earth with my super something space modulator" The little one with the scrub brush on his head? That's who.

You wouldn't happen to be a Gordon fan, would you? If so, I'll stop being so mean. :idunno:

OK, I was done here for the night, and went to visit my Nascar forum and read this from 38SadlerFan:

"I watched Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain tonight and believe it or not Greg Biffle's mom called in to complain about how little coverage he got today after the race. He came back from 3 laps down to finish 7th and not a word from the media, she said. She was upset no one was talking about her boy. HA! Whose mom calls in to a show to complain about media coverage? It was too funny."

Lord, I hope my tivo picked up Wind Tunnel. I'll be so sorry I missed that. Poor Greg Biffle.

OK, now I'm done. Night all.

As I drove from Indy to Danville Illinois this morning, I passed Pittsboro Ind and the overhead bridge said, "Jeff Gorden Ave", but don't worry, I got past it OK.

Sweet Justice

"NASCAR fined Gordon $10,000 and placed him on probation for his involvement in an altercation on pit road shortly after the completion of Sunday's Nextel Cup Food City 500.

A four-time series champion, Gordon will be on probation until August 30. "

Not much on Jeff Gorden Ave. to speak of. It goes past a truck stop and curves around a corn field and connects to one of the main streets of Pittsboro. Pittsboro has a damn fine fish and steak house though. :jester:

what does being on probation mean?

That means you better not do that again before Aug or we will really be mad. :Kiss2:

I couldn't see the race today since I'm in working in Montgomery Alabama, but this is a town where the race results are everywhere, so there was no way to for me to get home and watch the race without knowing the winner. I'm a happy girl today.

I drove down here from Baton Rouge yesterday and on the way stopped at a World Market store. Never been in one of these, but get this....they had a TONY STEWART PEZ DISPENSER!!! You can bet your butt I bought it. It's a race car and you push down on the hood and the Pez comes out. And if you pull the back of it, you wind it up and it runs. I was so excited to find it. They don't have stuff like that in New Jersey. I'm such a dork :D

Good win for Tony. A Pez dispenser? That's all it takes to make you happy! I'll just take these diamonds back to the jeweler, I guess.

Now I'm wondering what our Queen bought last year when he won the championship? Congrats on your new Pez dispenser. :wavingguy

Kered, I thought the 88 was going to maybe be a factor when he led his lap but never materialized. Heres a tea to him anyway.

rats not a good race for mark...
