hehe LK...funny stuff..

did you all hear that Toyota has now entered the picture? what do you all think of that?

i don't think they will do all that much this year but then i'm a chevy truck guy myself.

MissLaffs- yes I watched a lot of the Rolex. I was hoping it would be Tony's year, but it was clear early on that it was not to be. I enjoyed the race though.

Izzy- I'm not happy about Toyota entering the field. American car manufacturers are not in good shape and I don't believe Nascar should be supporting foreign manufacturers. On the other hand, they already had Toyotas in trucks and there are various arguments to be made about where all of the cars are actually made and really wouldn't it lovely if the whole world were unified and blah blah blah. Jack Roush actually sold half interest in his racing team in order to raise money to beat Toyota. He hates them.

navel- I'm actually heading down that way in March. So far I plan to visit DEI and Kannapolis. I'm really not a Hendrick fan so I'm not planning to hit that shop. Can't be much better than DEI can it? I figured that all the race shops were probably the same, except for the museum value of DEI. Come to think of it though, I bet RCR has some stuff too. Have to look into that.

Im a Chevy man..I drive a monte..this year..ontop of wanting Chevy to win every race again..lol..im pulling for the other two original makers to beat out toyota. Ford to me..is what University of Michigan is..overrated and powerless. This year tho..i wish ford and dodge the best of luck. Did anyone else see that Dodge is dropping the Charger name to bring back the Avenger?? They will run the Avenger in some races this year. Weird huh?

i don't know if this is new news or not. it's new to me though. threre's a new documentary on the life of Dale sr. that's suppose to be really good. that'a according to jr.it's a collaboration between teresa Earnhardt and Richard Childress. it goes from his birth right up to his death.
it's going to play every place nascar has a race this year and will air on CMT later this year.it opened in charotte already.

okey ladies and gentlemen,
i'm going to make some 500 predictions. these are only my opinions now so i would like to hear some of yours.

1- it's going to be between JG and tony with JG winning the 500 AGAIN!

2-i think jr. going to stuggle a little this race.

3- jeff Burton will run better than K.Harvick.

4- the toyota guys will show a little but will not be a contender.

5-Bobby Labonte- will have a good run and maybe an upset win.( wouldn't it be good to see the 43 back in victory lane at Daytona for some of us old dogs that remember when.)

6- 72 year old James Hylton will not make the race.

7- LK will not be rooting for JG to win.

8- izzy will be cheering for Ward Burton to win. if he makes the race.

I am actually glad to see toyota in the mix. It is often a good thing to stir up the good'ole boys and make them renew their efforts (Rousch as an example). Look what has happend to Petty Enterprises after the King quit and they didn't pursue the same excellence apparently. Besides, I have a couple of friends from Georgetown, Ky. (home of a Toyota Plant) that would argue that they are American made. If we could eliminate all parts, technology, and sponsorship to just "American" made we would not have anywhere near the spectacle that we how have with Nascar, IMHO. OK, LK, I am braced and ready for you to unload. Good to see you back and loaded for Gasoline Alley. :veryhappy

soo nice to see Ward back again..i missed him..and Mark will race on a limited basis...whoohooo....let the count down begin..

Here is where it will likely be televised:

28. FOX, SPEED's 12 days of coverage at Daytona (January 31, 2007)

Prior to live, exclusive coverage of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18 (2 p.m. ET), FOX Sports launches its 2007 NASCAR on FOX season under the lights of Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 10 with a prime-time presentation of The Budweiser Shootout (8 p.m. ET).

I am guessing that qualifying will be on Sat. 2/10 or Sun. 2/11 on Fox but can't find it yet. Maybe after work I'll look more. Jim

You are welcome my friend but this should even be better; long but informative if I don't mess it up, lol.

Did anyone see the Chevy commercial during the Super Bowl? The one with Dale Jr. singing while driving a corvette? LOL!

yes that was the only part of the commercial i thought any good...lol...

Yep, saw that, and said something about it and the folks we were with had to be explained as to who he was!? I still thought it was pretty good. The rest of that commercial wasn't very good, at least to me.

8pm eastern (right now) the boys are picking their starting position for the Bud Shootout on SPEED. Just an FYI. 🙂

whooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooo on the Mark Martin part..not on Jeff Gordhead. :manicd: ..hehe...Bud shoot-out tonight..let's get this party started...

I'm about half way through Speed's 10 hours of Daytona coverage for today. It feels like a long drink of water after being lost in the desert. Happiness is race season.

We got Tony Stewart the resident owner of the Bud Shootout again this year, congrats LK. Today we put a car on the poll.......
