And.... its a Yates sweep of the front row. David Gilliland (#38) on the pole and Ricky Rudd (#88) starts second.

And for those keeping track, Boris Said (#60), Sterling Marlin (#14) & Johnny Sauter (#70) have put themselves into the 500 based on their time trial speeds.

Since I took last year basically in mourning for Rusty being gone... I suppose its time to take off my mourning clothes and jump back in. Although I have not decided to whom I will pledge my unwaivering allegiance, I too would like to see Bobby have a good year, would be neat to see the 43 back in victory lane.. and I can also root for Kurt Busch to do really bad in every single race.. I still cannot bear to look at that car with him in it!

Anyone heard what happened to Kahne and Kenseth for the illegal stuff with their cars??

Boogity Boogity, Boogity!!! :imouttahe

i have to agree. it would be nice to see the 43 back in victory lane and kurt busch can't hold a candle to what rusty did in that #2.

if history repeats itself the lose of a crew chief won't matter much for the 500. these teams have so many good people that can step in.
jimmie J. proved that last year.
it sounds like M. Waltrip might have bigger trouble. nascar really frowns on messing with the engines.

with the cost of sponsering a cup car these days and sponser money tight. the talk is that coming down the road is cars being publicly owned.
how do you feel about this and would you invest in something like that?

me, it would have to do a lot on the people involved in running the team. i'm not going to give my money to any no-name yahoo that wants to have a race team.

whoohooo today is the big day.....Daytona here we come..in spirit anyway...the biggest weekend in Nascar...get those engines revved up and smoking hot...

Tony Steward won the first of the 150's and Jeff Gorrrr, ah Jeff Gorrrrd , the #24 won the second 😛 😛 😀 Actually, should be a strong race this weekend.

I had a horrible day on my nascar fantasy pool :disgust:

hmm well that's what you get for betting...

tsk tsk tsk..

I think that is not the last time you will see RCR, in particular the 29 car in the winners circle in the Big show this year. Hated to see Mark Martin not get the win but, racing is racing, I suppose.

No offense to MM fans but

I think his not winning this race is the same reason he hasn't won it before and hasn't won a Championship. I don't think the man truly has the fighting spirit. He said when the wrecking started, he figured they'd throw the yellow. Harvick, on the other hand, kept racing as hard as he could regardless.

I do love it when a car crosses the finish line on its roof.

LK, there is no doubt he Martin should have put a wheel into the 29 or something but I suppose that is not his nature. I know he lost again this week but more reasonably, lol.

I sure was hoping for another photo finish between the 17 and the 29 but the mystery tire slasher kind of cut into the fun. Two weeks, two sweeps. If Tony doesn't speed thru the pits maybe he will be the next at Vegas.

I enjoyed this race pretty good Sunday. bout time racing is back. :couch:

Kenseth swept the weekend and Jeff came in 2nd..............ahhh life is good! 😀

Ah, no sweep 3 weeks in a row, although, I frankly would not have minded if Jeff Burton could have swept. It seemed like he had a chance but not enough car. RCR stole the show in Vegas in spite of the track difficulties.
