I certainly won't express any opinion about which rafters are whose, but I might question whether being in possession of the highest set is that much of an advantage. There's bound to be an optimum height for the best vantage point, and anything higher won't have so good a view, although of course if one wanted to spy on people in the lower rafters...

And I can show you something. Follow your finger with your eyes as you point up at a 30 degree angle... now 45 degrees... now 60 degrees... now 75 degrees... and now hold it right there...

Why? Oh, it's very simple. I'll hold your arm in place for you, and now, if you just stare up very intently... I can do this.

I could cry out, "Hay-elp, HAY-ELP!" but a) I doubt anyone would come to my assistance anyway, though someone might to yours, and b) at the moment I don't feel in need of aid - maybe I will later, and while there's a chance of not being able to get a word in edgeways if you tickle me enough to make me laugh continuously, that's an acceptable risk.

Anyway, if I'm making my closing argument, I can only assure you that any resistance was entirely involuntary, of the manner that noone being tickled in such a ruthless and efficient manner would be able to avoid entirely. I didn't bite my lip or make a mighty effort not to laugh the way I sometimes do. Indeed, I laughed more than I usually do, though whether it was because my chest seems to be much more ticklish than usual today or because of your undoubted skill as a Master Tickler it's difficult to say. Note that if I were sucking up in an attempt to get you to go easy on me, I'd surely say much more in your praise.

[I'm very tempted to pull a variation on one of Hue's lines and tell you you can't remove my shoes and socks.

Then you'll look concerned and ask if there were a reason why I have to keep them on and I'll say no, and then before I can say anything else the light bulb will go off and you'll remember Hue and say you'll remove my boots, and I'll say you can't do that, either...

And then maybe you'll look puzzled and I'll point out that, at least for today - I'M BAREFOOTIN.

I know, I know - surely you would have noticed the minute I walked in, but I just wanted to say it - today's the kind of day I keep rewriting the verses to that old song, and my feet are usually more ticklish when I'm barefootin because I see when people notice and guess from the way they stare that they're thinking about how ticklish they are and that often makes them more so. But anyway, if I ever do arrive with bare feet, I'll point it out first thing.]
