Miles Davis

Yeah, if it can be one & only one, for the rest of my life, Miles is a pretty clear choice. In fact, it would take the rest of my life to even get truly familiar with his entire ouvre.

In fact, if I could only listen to one ALBUM for the rest of my life, the Final Four would come down to Miles' Kind Of Blue, Somethin' Else (Cannonball & Miles), Time Out(Dave Brubeck), and Exile On Main St (Stones). And I'm not even a big jazz fan. You don't need to be a jazz fan, of course, to like those first three albums; just a music fan. All you death-metallers here, please trust me; you'll love them.

For vocal/popular music, the Stones likely edge out Stevie Wonder.

Believe it or not its Beethoven. I have his symphonies playing continuously at home, just loud enough to be noticed but not over powering. I find it helps me sleep and wake up in a happier mood.

Oh thats far too easy.

Me.

I've spent too much time studying, practising and writing music that I really enjoy to give that up and listen to someone else for ever.

I'll check those out... I know they were more popular in the 80s, but I'm most familiar with "What are You Going to Do with Your Life?" and onward. Their most recent stuff is great, so I can't wait to hear their early stuff too....

Yeah, Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" has transcended all other cds in my library. Now it's like if I wanna pick up a new cd I have to ask myself: "Will I play this only one or two times or would I rather just put on "Kind of Blue" again.

I also can't get enough of Miles' "Sketches of Spain" and "In a Silent Way".
