My daughters 3rd grade class attended this movie during a special private showing at our local cinemas today on a field trip, and Lazarus and I joined them (along with several other parents). I really had no personal desire to see this movie, and figured it would just be another corny kids flick just in time for the holidays. I left the theater with a totally different attitude.

If you have kids, TAKE THEM TO SEE THIS MOVIE! Hell, even if you don't have children, but you're a young at heart type yourself who loves a good fast paced, heart warming movie, make the time to check this one out. It is action packed, has spectacular animation effects, breath taking theatrics, and a heart warming theme. The plot is rather thin and does not go into any sort of detail, but with all the eye popping, heart racing action and amazing animation, you won't miss it. Not to mention the fact Tom Hanks plays about 5 different characters in the movie, and he alone is worth the price of admission. Total class act all around.

My head is still spinning and my pulse is still quickened and the movie ended almost 2 1/2 hours ago. I sincerely recommend this movie to all looking for a "escape from reality for 2 hours" flick this Christmas. Your kids will LOVE it, and you likely will too!

If it is nearly as good as the book was, it must have been worth watching, methinks. I'll have to go investigate when it comes out on DVD at some point.

Sooooooooo, Tom Hanks pulls a train on 'em, huh?

HDS, you lazy poop! Go to the theater once in a while! Even BEARS come outta the cave once in a while! You should, too!

Why? I have a twelve-foot projection screen and so much in the way of speakers and associated tech that I knock things off the walls when watching movies. The cinema has NOTHING on me.😀

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. (That shouldnt surprise, because as most who know me on here know, I see so many movies)
Mimi is right, it is a heartwarming film. I enjoyed Tom Hanks performance and the storyline. I went to see it with my mom and a friend, and my mom's impression was that it was more for kids then adults. (Then again, she's 67, so maybe her perspective is different then some of us) In my opinion, it is worthwhile, and I would advise in favor of seeing it, especially if you are an adult, and have young children, they will love it!

hmm if we could go to hds house, you wouldnt have to deal with:

1) children crying
2) people telling other people whats happening on their cell phones
3) greese laid on the floor so others can slip:sowrong:

Okay, screw him, then... Plan 'B', Gang! We'll all go to the hotel and have a Gathering instead.

Your loss! Later, spud! 😛

I took my son to see it on Thanksgiving. It was a very entertaining flick. there was one scene which made you feel like you were on a rollercoaster. I loved it.
