@ FF7tickler- Yeah. Currently, I have one set up to be a romance, and another an action adventure of some sort. I guess it depends on what people and I want to see.
Theres so much to do with these characters that was never done in the series. The series was an account of the life and times of the characters, but really nothing more. We saw what they did day by day, and it wasn't anything extraordinary, save for the fact they are Evangelion pilots or in the case of the adults, were working for Nerv HQ in some fashion.
I'm sure alot of people found this boring. I didn't, but I'm sure alot of people did. I think that by having the idea of alternate universe, that it allows an artist to use the very real characteristics, personas, and personalities of the characters and put them in other unseen and realistic situations.
For example, in this alternate universe, its not necessary for Nerv, the evangelions, or the angels to exist (though they can if one wishes, or maybe not in the same way). The story could completely rely on the essence of the characters. Thats how strong these characters were built, and alot of people may not realize that after watching the series.
@ Larcen- You've always got to start with the basics. I was somehow able to skip some parts of the learning process because it all seemed liked second nature. But generally, its wise to not overlook these steps. Theres a certain fiber in art, an element of accuracy, that, if not present, can completely foul up the completed piece in some way, whether minute or large.
I'm glad you're working toward a goal though.
