Hi everyone.

I've been out of the loop for a while. Haven't contributed much because of a sudden Two Months of Insanity which has descended on my life. I'm in the middle of said Two Months now. Immediate and unexpected custody of my boys, a court battle, an enormous opportunity at work, a new living situation, school interviews, nanny interviews, all this Non-TK stuff which aggravatingly forces my obsession into the backseat for a spell.

But I thought I'd pop in here, on this General Discussion board, to say hi. Good to see you all again. Hi. Hi there. Say, you look great. Hi, did you change your hair? Ho, ho, yooouuu!

So tonight, as I was falling asleep, my brain woke up to write a quick poem, but kind of not-a-poem. I want to share it with you, because you all could probably relate. Maybe. And it serves as a quasi-topic so I can ostensibly post something here while saying hi.

Hi.

*******
MY HANDS

I place my hand
on my son's back as he sleeps
his breathing deepens and slows
sleep settles more heavily in his body
his face unfurrows

I place my hand
on my lover's upturned foot as she reads on the couch
a charge shoots up her leg
she laughs and squirms
and twists into a sitting position
and challenges me with lusty eyes

I place my hand
on a coworker's shoulder
she relaxes in her chair and moans embarrassedly
she closes her eyes halfway
and I have to shush her incessant thanks

I place my hand
on my keyboard at night
and the clock on the stove
clicks the minutes till morning
*******

Did you read it slowly? It's better if you go back and read it slowly. I'm not submitting it to any contests, I'm just fascinated with the power of hands. Aren't we all, we TMFers?

Going to bed now. You know it's time to sleep when your brain becomes a battleground between mature, profound thoughts and the question "who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"

Nicely done....

Eloquent indeed....very descriptive and emotive Boom! Have to agree that our "power" rests in our hands, both personally and as a species...too bad the "flip side" of the poem has to be written as well...as is being shown in too many places in our world right now, the destructive ability of those same hands is terrifying as well. I prefer your vision, and I'll try not to write the other poem....but those lines are being etched into the fabric of history regardless by unthinking fanatics. Keep staying up late, willya? Thanks..😉 Q

absorbent and yellow and porous is he!

that was beautiful. (and I did read it slowly... 🙂 )

BoomBob,

Hello, Sweetie. Good to see the group got a hello from you.
Hands, hmmm...you know my stance on those😉

Healing touches, hands on feet, hands on hands, fingers on lips, tips on the skin...touching, touching!! My favorite? Hands over eyes....surprises revealed, darknesses visited, calmaties hidden, and friends who say, "Guess who?!?" Erotic stories read aloud while a hand rests on you brow. *shivers*

Besutiful poem...lucky sons, lucky lovers, lucky friends, lucky computer. 😛

Joby

Hands, my favorite. Some of you have foot fetishes....meet the girl with a thing for hands!

Nice to see you back! Nice bit of poetry, and I couldn't agree more that hands are important. Very important. Very, very important.

Seriously, nice poem.😎

Thanks for the responses, folks. Glad the poem hit ya in whatever way it did. Now I'm gonna get personal.

Dave2112 -- congrats on the golden feather. that "writers block" story you wrote was something else. more real than the blair witch project. very well done. and I had a feeling you'd agree with my lauding of hands.

JoBelle -- you little peach (I know, I know, you're an amazon. well, I STILL call you a little peach, what do you think of that?). what you wrote on this thread is practically a poem in itself, which is no less than I can expect from you, I've learned. you little peach poet. sorry I've been so out of touch lately. in a month's time, things will relax back into normalcy for me. right now, I'm in the Book of Job. (JOB, not JoBelle.) (you little peach poet.)

Strel -- thank you for the well wishes. I appreciate all the well wishes I get right now. I don't take ANY for granted. karmic currency is a beautiful thing.

Q -- what you say is so right on. and that poem would be even easier to right, unfortunately. we are magic makers. (no, not magic markers!) we're alchemists, all of us. or, at least we have that ability, as untapped as it may be in some people. our hands are more powerful than we commonly give them credit for. and that's what makes us ticklers such GOOD ticklers. it's a hand thing. okay, before I get too esoteric let me just say thanks for the compliment too. (and yes, though hands kill, I prefer to focus on the miracle-worker aspect they have. they're as life-giving as they are life-taking.)

Bella!!! - good lord, it's been two years, hasn't it?! since when are you around these here cyberparts? I always ask DVNC about you when he and I get together. we definitely do need to catch up. send me an email telling me what's up with you (this forum has my email address), and as soon as the book of Job concludes with me, and I find that God has not forsaken me, and that all is good and loving, and that I've had the power to return to kansas all along, I'll send you a big fat email catching you up. and yes, we never did have that thunderdome battle, did we?

and Ayla -- thank you for the kind words. and thanks for reading it slowly. and, hey, I happen to know a certain special cave bear who is bound to be tickled like she's never been tickled before -- skillfully, artfully, and vigorously, in an atmosphere of romance, fun, and all the time in the world. the tickler told me "I'm gonna tickle her till the cows come home." then he leaned closer and said, "and I don't own no cows!" sounds so promising I just had to mention it.

okay, back to my regularly scheduled life-as-a-rocket.

Boom Boom Boom

Beautifully written, Boom. You have a way with words as well as your hands. It's good to see you around again, even if it may be limitted by your new situation. I'll be sending good thoughts and prayers your way in hopes that all works out quickly and smoothly.
