the problem I found with incorporating the BDSM symbol into any of the designs was that not everyone includes BDSM in their love for the fetish, its the same problem with the feather idea, the neuron tree is more relevant because it represents the only thing we all share and that is the need for sensation which is what I believe subtle feathers original idea was all about.

Thats why I like subtle feathers idea, its relevant to everyone with a tickling fetish no matter how you view your fetish.

Here's a drawing of a neuron. It looks like an underfertilized Triffid. The graphic version may be analogous to those who know the secret handshake, but it's completely impenetrable to outsiders and thus unlikely to attract the curious.

There ARE elements of BDSM in any tickling scene, each of the letters representing an act or state of mind.
B=Bondage,
D=Discipline.
S=Sadism,
M=Masochism.
And of the middle letters,
D=Dominance,
S=Submission.
At the very least, the secondary meaning of D&S exemplifies the nature of dominant Ler and submissive Lee, even if they switch roles mid-scene. Therefore I stand by Cap'n Mad's design.

I disagree that there must be a dominant and submissive in a tickling situation, alot of the time granted, but not all the time.

An ex of mine is heavily turned on by having her back gently stroked/tickled and theres certainly do D or S type jiggerish going in that situation any more than a sexual massage.

While I agree with what Libertine is saying in theory, I think that people who look at tickling as more playful and don't get into the more intense kind of experiences, and aren't into other aspects of BDSM, might be turned off at the idea of having the BDSM symbol be so hugely a part of the tickling symbol. I think that some people are going to want to keep them 100% separate, and that symbol, while it's beautiful and I happen to love it, wouldn't work for them.

Anyway, the most important thing to remember is that there will never be one idea that everyone likes, the symbol Capn made clearly possesses elements of a form of the tickling fetish many enjoy, this makes it a clear symbol for tickling of sorts and one people could use to express their fetish if they wish.

The neuron tree is also a symbol for tickling, it was designed for that very reason and represents what it was intended for, and if it is ever used, then that is what it will be used for by those who like the design and what it stands for.

The vast difference in opinions means there may never be one symbol, but maybe a few, maybe it depends how specific you want to be about it, I choose the neuron tree because it rather loosely and simply represents our ability to feel sensation whilst being vague enough not tell the world what it is unless people actually know. Rather than including various specific details like, it involves BDSM or feathers specifically etc
