Okay, so as some of you know, last week I went on a trip to sunny south Florida. This trip was likely to include entertainment of the tickling variety so along with my clothes, shoes and other essentials in my bag I packed some restraints and cuffs. This stuff was layered amongst my clothes and checked in as I arrived to the airport.

My flight was uneventful and I collected my bag when I arrived in Ft Lauderdale. Later that evening my friend and I excitedly opened up my bag and I rifled through my belongings looking for said bondage. No bondage. My stuff was confiscated by airport security at some point on my flight!!! What a serious bummer!

I don't know if anyone has encountered this before... but word to the wise. What a frustrating experience!!

I'm no expert, but I don't think they legally confiscate things out of checked luggage. You can pack a gun in your bag as long as it isn't loaded. This sounds like an employee stole your stuff.

That is really rotten, Kitten. 🙁
They figured you would be too embarrassed to complain, maybe, when they stole it.

I just flew back from San Diego with ~50 lbs of rope and assorted bondage gear in a duffel. It wasn't even opened.

I think this was simple theft, not legal confiscation.

That is ridiculous that they took your stuff!
This one time when I flew they called me to security because supposedly my bag tested positive for explosive residue! No idea how that got there!

I've travelled quite extensively with bondage gear in tow when my ex-g/f was out of state finishing college. None of my equiptment has ever turned up missing or been confiscated. I'd file that complaint.

Are you sure it was airport security? They would have told you and had you present if it was them! IF your bag was not locked, and it appears that it was not, it could have been other inside work and classified as theft!

~shrugs~ i made sure my gear was part of my wardrobe so that i could smuggle it in and out of my girlfriends place without her parents being any the wiser.

Think of it this way: If you ever go to an airport and hear crazy, hysterical giggling behind one of the doors that says "AUTHORIZED PERSONS ONLY", you'll know it's being put to good use!!

Defenitely file that complaint. Don't be nervous about saying what was stolen, hehe!

Someone I know from another website gave me a web address so that I could file a formal complaint. Not sure there is much that would come out of it though. Still... what a bummer!!!

And I'm SOOOO not the type to be too embarrassed to complain! lol...

You can always borrow my restraints. Nothing quite like a neighbor coming over with a "cup of sugar" to help you out, eh? lolololololololool.

Prior to 9/11, I used to think nothing...

...of carrying my "Bag of Tricks" with me as my carry-on luggage (those damned restraints are EXPENSIVE!), and the one time someone actually had the nerve to ask me what all that crap was in there, I looked them dead in the eye and replied, "Sex Toys", and they couldn't get me out of that line fast enough. Screw 'em... I don't know those people, I'll prolly never see them again in my life, and I give less than a raggedy rat's ass what they think of me and my goodies. I've been told that you can't have any sort of restraints in the passenger area anymore, (I guess that thwarts my plans for tickle-jacking an airliner to save on airfare to NEST), so I put my Bag inside one of my suitcases. Doesn't keep them from rifling through it, though. I can tell how stuff has been rearranged when I get to my destination, and they always leave those inspection cards in there to let you know they've been in there. I tell ya what, though, any of MY stuff goes missing outta my luggage, and I'm gonna get reimbursed by the airline, dammit. Somebody's ass is grass, baby! :ranty:

Actually, you aren't supposed to lock your bags any more. Good for nat'l security, I suppose. But, bad for those carrying valuables. Another reason to keep valuables and necessities in your carry on bag. I don't know if that would work with bondage gear. But, either way, that sucks!

If you lock your bags they will break the locks if they decide yours should be looked at.

If airport security goes through them they leave a card explaining that they did so and who to contact with questions.

This was theft and yes you should report it.....

Give the flight numbers and any info you can provide to the airline...

I couldn't have said it better myself! 😀

Ticklkitten, report your missing items, if you haven't already. Even if you don't get them back, at least you tried to do so. Take back what is rightfully yours! Airport security's one thing but this was theft, plain and simple. Heads should roll for this! :sowrong:

When it comes to traveling with equipment, I have no qualms traveling with 40 pounds or so: one good strait jacket or sleepsack, two hoods, 3-5 gags, ropes, cuffs, wardrobe plus basic disciplinary equipment. My bags have been opened many times, I've even lectured on corsetry to interested women.

In the past, they used to stop women for Hitachi wands, now they know better. Odds are, your toys were indeed stolen, if it was the TSA, there would have been a note saying that they inspected your bags.

p.s. what Mistress Feral lightly touched on is a very serious matter. When traveling internationally with equipment, limit what you are carrying and always say it's for your girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband, never say slave or clients...they'll never let you in the country under the assumption that you'll be working and you'll be watched from then on whenever you do try to enter.

Ain't that something! They steal your kinky bondage stuff, but have no problem with me carring on an undetected Black Cobra stun gun in my briefacse last July. I blame the media.

So your slave is considered "carry on Luggage"?

lol :jester:

This thread is absolutely hysterical! :jester: :jester: :blaugh: :blaugh:

Obviously, there are some enthusiasts among the baggage checkers at the airport! :veryhappy
