The way men tickle vs. the way women tickle

I would imagine it all comes down to what the intent is when tickling, the level of skill/comfort of the tickler, and the person they're tickling if we're talking actual tickling sessions rather than random instances. Skilled ticklers will do whatever gets the desired reaction from their 'lee, male or female it wouldn't make a difference.

I also just realized this is a rather "dusty" thread we have here. Oh well, worth weighing in, methinks.

I'm a sensitive gal...so a man with the softer touch is my kind of ler.
The digging type scares me to death, and not in the good way. I do understand though, that some prefer it. Each to their own! 🙂

Sounds like nature vs nurture. Men are raised to be strong, quick, aggressive; what traits do you think are emphasized in sports? We're all about "winning".

I remember my first few attempts at tickling I wasn't very good, I remember hearing I wasn't subtle/surprising. Backing off on the squeeze instinct and moving towards ruffling rather than scratching/poking did the trick. Then adding some light squeezing/slow poking helped make it special.

Has anyone else noticed that most men tend to "dig" or scratch when they tickle, whereas most women tickle more like pianists--using the tips of their fingers and nails--using light, gliding pressure as opposed to the more forceful "male" way?

Maybe it's because of my "interest" in tickling, but I always tried different methods to illicit a reaction.

However to the topic, my one sister in law always pokes too hard. If she had realized that a lighter touch can make me helpless she would have won a lot more tickle fights. I have a another sister in law who uses the LIGHTEST touch I have ever had used against me! Luckily she isn't a big tickler and is WAY too ticklish herself to wrestle! But she could always get me when she tried. Oh, and she ALWAYS goes for the feet. Even though she has threatened to tickle my ribs many times she prefers the feet and trying to make me scream!

The reason I love the way a woman tickles is because they are so gentle, they can scratch too but its such a light touch it drives you completely insane. I don't remember being tickled by guys much, not that I would want to, but I feel sometimes guys use too much power and not soft enough like a woman can

I've been tickled by both numerous times. I would say that generally speaking, women seem to have more of a natural finesse about it and seem better at getting past the defenses.

This is interesting. I guess I've never paid attention. I can say in shoots, Copper and Penny for instance, both didn't think they were very ticklish on their feet. After squealing and giggling her way through a segment, I asked Copper how she thought she wasn't ticklish on her feet? She responded she'd really only been tickled by her uncles who were extremely rough, which didn't really tickle. Amani and other models have also stated most of the times, guys tickle too roughly. On the other hand, I've found when ladies are doing the tickling, they really aren't very good at eliciting the good reactions. I think I've only had one really good tickler, though Kendra has learned over the years.

I can't speak for other men here, but I do not dig in when I tickle someone. Digging in can hurt the 'lee, therefore diminishing the ticklish sensation. I tend to use a very light, almost feathery touch on the upper body, and a light kneading on the sides by the waist. On the feet, I use what little fingernails I have to lightly scratch the soles for the maximum effect. I've been tickling for a lot of years, since I was a little kid, so I think I know what I'm doing... And I don't know what they're doing in most tickling videos. They skitter around all over the place, missing most of the spots that should be be ticklish. I figure that they can't really tickle the person too bad, or they would "safeword" out and there would be no video.

With those tricks I'd be a total giggling mess 😀

I've mostly been tickled by women and they're mostly quite devastating. I have on occasion been tickled by women whose approach was more clumsy and less effective, though I'm ticklish enough that it still produced their desired effect.

On the rare occasion that I've been tickled by guys I expected it to be less intense but generally it wasn't the case; one guy who tickled me a few times had these surprisingly nimble fingers that drove me around the bend, and somehow it was particularly embarrassing to be so utterly reduced to a heap of writhing giggles by him.

I have limited experience being tickled by men, because when I'm the lee, I ONLY want to be tickled by women. So I've had mostly lady ticklers. As an adult, I haven't been tickled by a guy with intent and focus. They've been just side pokes. But I do remember once being tickled by a guy when I was younger, and he really dug his fingers in hard. It tickled, but it really hurt too. Not a way I like to be tickled. I've had enough experience being tickled by women though to have a good sampling of how they tickle. In my experience, if a woman is tickling someone and she has nails, she's going to use them. And it seems she's able to apply less pressure than a guy because she's letting the nails do the work. That's *my* experience at least. Even when I've been tickled by a woman who has no nails beyond her fingertips, they still are gentler, but firm. Much gentler by far than my experience with that one guy.

I definitely prefer how women tickle. They are just so.. delightful yet torturously teasing in their method. They also tend to be more creative and more willing to find every single ticklish spot. And lets face it, they have a lot of tools at their disposal perfect for tickle torture like fingernails, combs, makeup brushes, hairbrushes, etc. That ain't to say men aren't good ticklers but I do agree that a good number of them prefer to be more aggressive, probably to assert dominance. Its very effective when done right! But can get a little painful when not.

A woman's touch is a ticklish touch. 😉

I like a harder tickle, which is what men do. That said, a much softer one on tops of feet, ankles, etc
- basically, my feet are ticklish everywhere but the bottoms, so women tend to excel there.

I just try and find whatever is most effective based on the lee within the limits of comfort. I would never want to hurt or make the lee uncomfortable in any way which is something I'm very wary of during the session. That being said, I usually find that when digging, I'm more nervous about hurting the lee, especially if they're squirming like mad, so whatever digging is done I try to keep as light as possible

I would say the women do really well based on their teasing torment conversation, using nails or in videos I’ve seen that even knuckles work against the ribs. The best is Mia McKinley with her nails and shhhh… Scarlett Sinns is great verbally too.

I agree with Redmage, the most effective technique will depend on the person. Light tickles, tweaks, and gentle kneading send me into hysterics, but digging in is just painful to me

Absolutely! Glad you raised this, because I've long noticed it too. And I think there's more to it, which gets interesting.

First, I was surprised how many guys replied defensively. Of course we're capable of not doing this or mixing ler styles. And without doubt, many lers and lees prefer soft/teasing tickles.

But that said, c'mon folks. In general, there is an OBVIOUS style difference. But "different" does not mean better or worse. FWIW, my take is...
- Guys generally tickle harder, and more often sustain a good spot
- Girls generally scream and thrash more when tickled by guys
- And I LOVE that 😉

Cool notion: I think m/f sexuality and psychology also play into that big time. Maybe even more than the physical sensation. It is quite common in clips to see a male ler take over or join a female ler, using only a LIGHT touch, and immediately get a stronger reaction. Pure speculation on my part, but I think that subconsciously the fun instinct for guys to play attack and girls to act like prey and scream is a factor. (Please excuse my traditional male hetero slant - just how I'm wired. Obviously any gender identity/preference or dominant/submissive streaks could be involved.)

One related point: guys generally hold the lee better to keep tickling. I do get that playful and teasing tickles have their place. In fact both can rock. But mostly when trying to tickle, you have to hold them still! The light style of some lers (mostly female) that lets the lee wriggle away every other touch really bugs me.
