"The word" in different languages

Yes, you're right Chicago, lol however I was having a string of disconnected thoughts that didn't come until after I had hit the post button. And so naturally I had to wait 30 seconds haha. Hope you are doing well ☺️

Just wanted to add that I love languages, especially when you can guess the context being relayed just by the sound of a word like "ticklish" -- in basically any language

lol no probs fam.

I know what you mean about the sound of the word. I think that about the filipino word for tickle and a few others.

Does anyone have any luck with particular searches with these words? For example, does one language, other than English, pull up some really choice mainstream material?

Not really. Every once in a while you might come across a hidden gem, but I generally just see the same scenes I see in English. It's useful for finding more amateur stuff though.

I can confirm for the italian language:

Solletico: Tickling (To be precise, "Solletico" is not translateable in english because in Italian means a "thing" and in english means an action, but if you use "solletico" to say "tickling" everyone here can understand well! 😀 )
Fare il solletico / Solleticare: Doing the tickling
Solleticare i piedi: Tickle feet

"solletico" alone doesn't mean to tickle feet! 😀

Besides this, i'm really into east Europe languages and besides the Slovak and Czech languages as suggested by Angelo1354, i can suggest:

Russian: щекотка (shchekotka)
Ukrainian: лоскотання (loskotannya) - But they usually speak Russian, so the russian version is more frequent
Romanian: gadilitor
Ungarian: csiklandozás

Cheers from Italy!

Personally, I like the good 'ol redneck American version of tickling... "Git 'er"! :laughhard: :rowfull:

I did a whole write-up on the Polish words for tickling a while ago. The most common word for tickling in Polish is "łaskotki". The verb is "łaskotać". We don't have a word for "ticklish". We say "ma łaskotki" (literally "he/she has a tickle"). Now the write up:

The real fun starts when the Past Tenses and perfective aspect come into play. And the prefixes. That's how you get "łaskotali"([they] tickled), "połaskotał" ([he] tickled briefly), "załaskotał" (used in "załaskotał ją na śmierć" - [he] tickled her to death), "wyłaskotała" (usually used like "wyłaskotała go" - [she] tickled the hell out of him).

"Gilgotki" and "Gilgotać" is used exactly the same as "Łaskotki" and "Łaskotać". The other Polish tickle-related terminology includes:
"łechtać" - an old timey term for "to tickle"
"łechciwy" - "ticklish", old-timey and very rarely used
"łachotać" - a very rare term for "to tickle"
"smyrać" - depending on the context, "to tickle", or "to caress". "Smyranie bobra" (tickling the beaver) is a slang term for female masturbation
"miziać" - "to tickle" or "to caress"
"łaskotliwy" - "tickly"

"Smyranie bobra" (tickling the beaver) is a slang term for female masturbation

Going through this thread reminded me that I know 8 including English. At least I recognise them in print even if I can't spell them.

In communist Poland people didn't really shave "down there". There was no equipment to do it safely and efficiently. Hope it explains the metaphor a little.

Ah right. In that case, I won't ask what the slang for penetrative sex is. Probably offended enough Polish beavers as it is. lol

Then I won't tell that it's "kisić ogóra" (pickling the cucumber).
