True. We can't. Just like we can't all be cops and solve the problems of crime. But, as with crime, we can pass the word along when we see something that doesn't belong. And, we can help to keep a positive attitude by not engaging in the garbage when it comes along. Responding to nastiness with kindness is one way to overwhelm it.

Another hint to help make your surfing experiences more pleasant. Those who repeatedly post nastiness are few. Going to the user control panel and blocking that person will allow you to surf the forum without having to worry about being exposed to their junk. For those who'd rather not fight it, that's a good option for avoiding it.

you nasty? i never saw you say a nasty thing.. to me people who get all nasty and post negative thoughts are themselves usually unhappy people who want others to be as unhappy as themselves. with my posts, i always try to be positive and encouraging.. if i think i might say something nasty, i just think about it twice and avoid the topic or person that i wished to say something mean to in the first place..

Probably because I'll be the first to admit that I am sometimes, the SOURCE of negativity. Of course, I don't like it and I try not to, but it happens.

I'm still young and the whole deep breathing and counting to ten is a difficult habit to get into. I guess I'm just not as peaceful or mature as some of my previous posters, but all in due time, I guess.

Hell! I'm old enough to be your mother and I still screw up. Ask anyone! We all have our moments. But, when we remind one another of the good things, the negatives seem to fade into the background and not get to us as much....with some obvious exceptions, of course. But, as a general rule, it does help.

Sometimes, it's not even nastiness you're dealing with. Sometimes, it's a member inflicting his or her dysfunction on the rest of us...a dysfunction that they sometimes can't even begin to help. I'm a believer in counseling in private, rather than in public, although I'm not perfect, and sometimes, I've gone over the edge in firing back at such previously mentioned members. I've tried very hard to not be like this...and continue to make that effort. Easy it ain't.

It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
