It's not so much over-rated I would say...it's more of a classic. That clip (scene) was one of the first good mainstream finds at the time and the actress (Gloria Pall) confessed to being really ticklish and that is how she got the part. She even wrote a small book about her experience in the movie and all the details of how she got the part. You can buy it on her website 🙂

I'm famous! 
On a less silly note, it's a favorite mainstream scene of mine for two reasons. First, because it's rare to see a tickling scene in a mainsteam film or show with bondage, light as it was (odd foreign game shows aside). Second, the tickling was a sexual game in and of itself, not played as comedy or intro to sex. Who knows how long it would have gone on without a messenger to interrupt in the story? And it's drawn out for what it is; when's the last time you saw a mainsream scene that lasted more than 15 seconds?
As for overrated? I was given to understand that the 'outtakes' in Dirty Dancing were hot, but I just found it kind of cute, and the fact that Patrick Swaze looked annoyed as hell gave it a splash of cold water for me.

Not overrated IMO, it's a prolonged foot tickling scene with an actually ticklish actress.

In the era before the interwebs and on-demand access... this re-run movie was an extremely rare (and beloved) treat for tickle-fetishists, whom, I'm sure, were thankful for anything we could get. The odd Popeye or Avengers episodes aside.

As with all things that get hyped up a lot, it's easy to be disappointed when you finally see it. Many times, I've seen things (TK or not) that leave me thinking "That's it???" The same is true for tickle scenes at times.
For me, a more natural and less staged/planned out scene is best. So, AFA watching clips, I tend to enjoy mainstream and candid stuff...however short or overrated it may be.

For myself, a lot of the mainstream scenes are what I recall from when I was little... how I was strangely fascinated by them and how I knew that this was somehow more than just an interest, lol.
I still remember having a jaw to the floor kind of feeling when I was very young and first saw the fff/mmm tickling scene from the 3 Stooges: Space Ship Sappy
For that reason, it still gets me excited... even now having seen how possibly overrated it may be. If that makes sense

I remember over 30 years ago when I found out that there were actually other people into tickling and one of the pieces of literature I found mentioned this scene. I went to the library and found out the movie was made in 1958. I looked in the archieves of old Life magazine issues and found a full page picture of Miss Pall being tickled on her feet by Lee J. Cobb. I cut the picture out of the magazine which of course was wrong but I doubt many have noticed in the last 32 years. Another thing I found peculiar was that while I was looking at these old issues when I found a picture of a pretty barefoot female in an ad her feet were cut out. Found many of these obviously a foot fetishist on the lose.

About the best mainstream scene I've seen was when Patrick Duffy tickled Victoria Principal on the 1985 Season Finale of Dallas. I liked it because Duffy had Principal pinned to the bed, and gave her a couple of good side tickles, and she really couldn't get away.
Some of the other mainstream scenes seemed to always be more brief, or semi, tickles. Scenes like the ones where Joyce Dewitt got tickled on Three's Company, were very brief. Many mainsream tickle scenes are crap. A few are excellent. The Three Stooges, "Hold That Lion," "Some More of Somoa," "Space Ship Sappy," all excellent and fun. This one mentioned, my favorite was the General Hospital tickle where the nurse is tickled on her pantyhosed foot while the doctors hae a serious conversation - she has GORGEOUS feet, and a gorgeous laugh.
Another memorable one was in "The Last Precinct," where a girl is put in a magician's box, with her pantyhose feet sticking out, and the black guy asks if she is ticklish and then procedds to tickle her feet. It gave me a heart attack when I was a kid!
Here's the big question - ARE THESE CLIPS AVAILABLE IN ANY KIND OF BETTER RESOLUTION!!!! All these clips mentioned are only available in VERY small format, garbled audio.
The Three Stooges clips are available on DVD now, and on Youtube in better quality.

You doubt many would have noticed, but you noticed right away that someone else was cutting out pictures from library magazines. Karma coming back at cha.
People defacing library property sucks, but this isn't as annoying as some self imposed control freak jerk gets a book that tries to capture a certain style of speaking, and feels compelled to 'correct' the grammar to proper english. These are the folks that should get long prison sentences.
