Thread Hijacking And Off-Topic Sillyness

I have noticed of late a disturbing tendency amongst members of the Tickling Media Forum to derail topics with silly replies. Things such as this:

Are becoming all too commonplace within our illustrious forums. It's such an issue now that apparently the mods and admins are attempting to put a stop to it, and have enlisted my help:

I think you know as well as I that "DJ Mujava" hasnt got anything to do with the topics your involving him in. And posting that clip as a link is no better than embedding it. Your still derailing the topics with it.

Please stay on topic and stop posting irrelivent video clips.

Perhaps even start your own thread dedicated to DJ Mujava, then you can talk about his choonmaking all you want in there and it`l be nice and on topic.

Maybe instead of making a thread about DJ Mujava I should make one about hijacking people's threads with replies consisting of nothing more substantial than an emoticon and a picture of a cat. That might help in the crusade against thread hijackers!

Some dont know when not to be silly as youth gets in the way of thinking straight and much attention is needed to keep them happy...

I suggest you put these members (popular or not) on ignore and disregard the drivel..

I intend to begin doing so as I am tired of the idiocy as well...some will be surprised when they find themselves on ignore and some will not be..

Most of these folks hijack with silliness only because they have nothing really intelligent to say on the topic being discussed.....or they think they are being cute when they are not....

Headsnaps MESSAGE was valid, but the title and the goofy example makes it EXACTLY what he's messaged, instead of a clever public service announcement.

Gotta back up DVNC on this--I'm not sure I'm recognizing what the issue is here, me. A thread that appeared to be intended as a playful jab became even more playful instead of becoming yet another fire pit...that seems more like win than fail to me.

Thread hijacking and off-topic posts can be annoying, certainly, especially when they are obviously deliberate or designed to cause someone's feelings to be hurt. ANY post, situation or plot meant to hurt someone for any reason whatsoever is abhorrent and unacceptable. Reporting a post if we've missed it is a good way to keep the occurrences down a bit and is most helpful. Please don't be afraid to hit the "report post" button or PM any of the mods if you see something you think is of dubious nature--bringing it to our attention is always appreciated, especially if it's something that can be dealt with before it gets out of hand. This board is a place that was designed to come and have fun, not to be a battleground; we count on your participation in keeping it that way! 😀
