Tia Lee Yu-Fen is a Taiwanese singer and actress, previously from the girl group Dream Girls. I first got to know her in 2011 from the (not very good) Taiwanese live-action adaption of Hayate the Combat Butler. I always thought she was very beautiful, but considering her obscurity and the language barrier, I never expected I would ever get a confirmation from her!
However, as it turns out, In 2016 Tia starred in a drama called “Future Mr Right” alongside an actor called Lin Yo-Wei. According to an article (which I’ll link at the bottom)…
“In particular, since their characters initially dislike each other and frequently engage in physical altercations, they usually improvise these scenes without rehearsing—which makes their reactions feel more natural. Lee Yu-fen laughed and said: “I try my best not to hurt him!”
However, Lin Yo-wei still had the upper hand whenever they went head-to-head—it turns out he’d discovered Lee-Yufen’s biggest weakness: she’s ticklish! Every time he unleashed his tickling moves, she’d turn pale with fear, and her terrified expression was incredibly realistic! Lin Yo-wei laughed, “At one point, I thought she was about to snap—she was genuinely about to lose her temper!” Lee Yu-Fen added, “It was really terrifying. People on the outside can’t understand the fear someone with a ticklish spot endures. In that moment, I really wanted to lose my temper, but I had to keep acting like we were playfully bickering in the scene—my face was contorted!”
A second Yahoo article offered the same story and quote, but interestingly phrased it as follows:
“Lee-Yufen further accused Lin Yo-wei of frequently “tormenting” her by exploiting her weakness—her “ticklishness”.
As a long time admirer of her, I would love to see her getting tickled one day, but for now even this confirmation is something worth celebrating for me…! Maybe one day some of that behind-the-scenes footage will surface…!
