So, not sure how many folks here are fans of hip hop and R&B music, but Power 105 in NYC is one of the country's most known stations for that genre of music as well as their on air personalities. The Breakfast Club is a nationally syndicated morning show on that station, and they give out a weekly award for Donkey of the Day. The award, is reserved for people caught doing stupid, foolish, ridiculous, etc things in society. Last week's award went to a foot fetishisht who's been now arrested 6 times for fondling, tickling, caressing, etc womens feet in public places without asking or having their consent. I share this because they didn't berate the gentleman and call him weird, but said had he found put his energy into this passion for feet in other ways, these arrests could have been avoided. And then, the female co-host of the trio expels upon tickling fetishes. For those of you who are Angela Yee fans, you'll be quite pleased I think. The conversation about the fetish gets interesting around 3:30.

Actually, the fetish discussion is pretty short. Whole video is over 12 mins long but the fetish discussion is pretty much over at 5 mins in.

I'm gonna be stereotypical, but whatever. I find that when I hear blacks talk about fetishes/deviance they are much more open and less judgmental, relatively speaking, than whites. They are much more comfortable talking about "getting freaky" and "getting your freak on," and just generally accepting of deviance. A lot of people hold up Howard Stern as being accepting, but when I saw his foot/tickling segments, I saw a lot of smirking and contempt. I get that they make fun of everything on that show, but I didn't sense it that much with this 105 clip. With whites, I sense more "what a creep he is" while with blacks, it's "that's freaky stuff," but without then denouncing it.

As a black guy, it's definitely not racial. I think we all just fear what we don't understand especially if it's not coming from someone we're fond of. Still, I appreciate tickling in the mainstream, and really appreciate it when the person speaking about it seems to be aware of the fetish and doesn't denounce it as deviant behavior.
