I'd like to point something out...

Tickling isn't sexual to everybody. Any claims made about the fellow's intentions must be run through this filter of truth. I used to work with a guy who'd do tickle monster with anybody he thought it would be hilarious with. Another who'd come up behind you and stick a finger in your ribs while you're trying to ring someone up.

It was fuckin' hilarious and nobody ever thought twice about it.

Yeah but from what you're saying it sounds like the guy wasn't just walking up and asking parents "Hey, can I tickle your kids?" It sounds more like he was doing it to co-workers right?
And no it's not sexual to everyone. But to a parent, that is creepy as all hell, fetish or not.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I mean when I said what I said. I'm not saying he was or was not turned on by it, but he should have had a bit more common sense for staying out of trouble, especially if the law had been involved previously.

I don't have kids yet...but I can only imagine that my reaction to having a COMPLETE STRANGER ask to touch my child, even in a manner that would make my child laugh...yeah, I'd probably have to hurt the guy/gal in question...

Monster or not...this guy is a problem, and needs some therapy...he obviously has no capacity to make logical judgements...and might even wind up on the sex offender list...probably should if he has done this on repeated occasions...

Really, though, all any of us is doing is speculating. It's possible that, in truth, he wasn't a pedo at all, or even into tickling. Maybe he was just a demonic alien gathering information on our species :O.

For all you 'defenders' of this man, just wait until you are a parent and have children of your own...

It may "sound" cute/harmless/all in fun/blah blah blah blah. But when someone walks up like that wanting contact unsolicited by you with YOUR child, the rules change! He may be totally innocent. But that is also the way child molesters work. As a parent, one CANNOT take that kind of risk.

Would you let some stranger walk up to your house and say, "Hey, can you go out shopping for a few hours so I can babysit your kids for you?" I would hope not! Same thing here. Don't be so bleeding-heart about defending tickling and not look at the real, full picture here. The story isn't tickling here, it's child security and safety.

The mom wasn't going to be far away,right so she would have seen him doing anything that he shouldn't.If I was in that situation I would have said,''sure.'' In the environment of today. This is a messed up affair. People should have more common sense. He wasn't saying that 'your child looks pretty athletic do you mind if I show him some basketball moves' or 'would your child like to learn how to play chess'. It was tickling.

It is a sad fact that pedophilia has caused this rift where children must be shielded from unknown adult interaction at all times. I think that it is bad for children to have to miss that social interaction, but it is for their own good.

A parent can not let their guard down. There are too many weirdos out there who take things too far. Whether or not the man was getting his jollies tickling the kids is irrelevant. I probably would have the same reaction as the parents who reported him. The man is asking to cross the line. The line is there for a reason.
