Tickle Switches

Switching is always a little tricky. Being a switch seems to be a little easier in tickling than in some other kinks, but even so I've heard some common stories from those who play both sides of the slash.

The Switch Trap. This is especially a problem for female switches it seems. The usual way of things is that a woman who identifies as a switch or as a 'lee gets into a relationship with a tickle-partner. Then she begins to find that her partner was really looking more for a 'ler, and she ends up stuck in the top role more often than she would like. I know some women who hesitate to even mention that they switch because of this.

"I won't play with a switch." This seems to happen to both men and women. Some people just can't get into playing with a partner that they know switches. Some tops don't enjoy playing with a partner that isn't exclusively a bottom, and likewise some 'lees just can let go and enjoy playing with a 'ler whom they know bottoms from time to time.

I can say for myself that I do switch in tickling, but I have sometimes had a hard time convincing people of that for some reason. 😛 And I do run into people from time to time who want a partner who stays on only one end of the feather or the other. Mostly, it seems, I end up as a 'ler. So it's a good thing that I like tickling. 😉

If you're a switch, have you had any problems as a result? Does anyone have a preference either for or against playing with switches? (No offense will be taken if you do - I'm just looking for feedback.)

Hmmm.... Interesting issue. I switch. But, over time I've found that I much more enjoy the lee side than the ler side...other than in tickle fights and spontaneous quickies. That actually kinda surprised me a bit.

Other than with a select few, I tend to get bored fairly quickly on the ler side. That's not at all to say that I find that side boring. I guess it's just that I enjoy the struggle and game playing more than simply having someone tied down and at my mercy. Go figure!

AFA running into issues with others, the only time I have has been at gatherings where there are several male lees. The fact that they aren't comfortable playing with other guys (as women are with other women) means that the lers must be limitted to the gals. There aren't that many gals (I don't think) who enjoy the ler side enough to get involved in more than a couple scenes during that short a period of time. So, the guys who are primarily lees tend to feel left out at times.

Case in point... At one of our CAT gatherings, we had 3 women and 6 or 7 guys. (Other gals had been no shows.) Every one of the guys wanted a chance to sub. But, I was sick and not up to playing, another gal was dealing with an injury that limitted her ability to do anything and the third was a bit intimidated by so many male lees wanting her attention. That gathering was kind of a dud as far as play. But, we still had fun visitting and watching vids, clips, etc.

I did have a bf way back who was strictly a ler. In fact, the bum wasn't even ticklish. I definately felt the loss of being able to retaliate. But, I loved getting tickled all the time too.

I guess there are pros and cons to everything! 😉
