Das ist zo, Rhiannon - I agree with Rhiannon (I know, go figure) - Schadenfruede to me also is laughing at someone else's misfortune - that's not what we're about. It's almost like saying 'I laugh when you cry'.

What about feeling aroused when you see somebody getting ruthlessly tickled then. I mean that what we all fantasies about right? Seeing it, or doing it, so in a way it is a form of Schadenfreude. On the otherside I guess it would be a revercal of Schadenfreude, somebody who get's off on recieving it.

How about Kitzefreude, delight in tickling

All I know is I remeber James Spader using it in his closing arguement that helped him get Heather Locklear off in an episode of Boston Legal... and who wouldn't want to get Heather Locklear off in Boston.

Schadenfreude is just a different feeling. You enjoy that another person feels bad. Like the other day...a guy I know had been cheating on his girlfriend. Now he found out that she cheated on him as well. He was in despair - and I laughed my ass off.

I don't think you can compare that to the feeling someone has when tickling someone, but I could be wrong. It certainly isn't what I feel and what arouses me when watching a tickling clip.

Well I think when it comes to any sort of S & M there has to be room for the word. Now I am sure to hear from some of the Dom's on the forum, but I think there is a bit of that involved.

But I was really really enjoying that he was feeling bad. And THAT is what Schadenfreude is all about. I doubt that a dom/me will enjoy his/her sub feeling bad, because that is not what SM is about. The sub always enjoys him/herself as well.

I disagree with the whole idea of this thread. To me tickling isn't about taking pleasure in someone else's discomfort or humiliation. I don't want a 'lee to hate it, or be humiliated by it. I want her (or me, in a switch situation) to enjoy it, or I don't enjoy it either.

I came to like tickling as a kid cause it was fun. Then as I hit puberty, it also became a way to explore the female body while both she and I had fun with it.

Good stuff, not sadism. For me, anyhow.

I sort of have to agree with U.N. Owen.
To me the whole crux of tickling is the fact that it is unbearable and makes us want to escape but at the same time, many of us find it extremely pleasurable
and in some cases arousing. If it were truly causing someone to suffer,
I would lose interest rather quickly.

However that being the case Schadenfreude is a rather unique and provoking topic on its own merit! 😛
