Sorry to bump this up, but I just watched the documentary and WOW! :-O It reminds me of some CSI, Dateline, Law and Order type stuff. It was really well done! And it got me thinking so much that I logged on to TMF (first time in years) just to see everyone's take on it. I had to talk about it!
I have to admit there were times I really cringed, and thought, "Is this really happening?!!!" I never quite knew all the things that happened when "Terri" was taken down. But to hear that he's been at it for so long... FOR SO LONG! The law is supposed to protect these guys, but it is creepy and scary to see how much money and having the right name/ knowing the right people can protect someone.
So- This mystery, the tickle cells, the lies, threats, the fear.... everything is real- So is the other side. Even the story of when the other film maker first discovered that he liked tickling and searched AOL to find others loved it too- That story is the same as many of us. (Or at least the older ones of us who came through.)
This movie tugged on my heart more than I thought it would. I found myself wanting to fight to save the reputation of these guys, and I wanted to see the source of this criminal bullying taken down.
Overall- I don't think it will damage the entire community. I feel like there will always be people who will think we are strange or will be put off by any for of "deviancy". A documentary of someone breaking the law isn't going to change that. The movie is well worth looking into. I know that we see ourselves in bits and pieces of i,. but it is truly the story of exposing a person, not the fetish as a whole.
:-* Miss you guys!
