Or the other option is that it was a parody by someone who obviously believes that half the stories in this section of the forum aren't true and was making fun of that.

Either way, it belongs in the fiction section and thus no one should applaud it because it's in the wrong place to get applauded. It's like expecting a Z-list celebrity's autobiography to get a standing ovation at a sci-fi convention. 🙂
