Tickling by Geography

Howdy!

Something I have wondered about recently is the correlation between being ticklish, and geograhic residence. For example, would a woman raised in South Carolina be as ticklish on her feet as a woman from North Dakota. Does environment generally play a role in something like that? Would the same concept apply to women from Europe or Asia? I have my own ideas, but am really interested to hear other ideas/theories. Any anecdotes would also be appreciated.

Wow... Good question.

I've traveled a bit and met folks across the country here in the US, met a couple in Australia but didn't get a chance to meet anyone in Europe when I was there. I'm heading to Japan next year and hope to link up with some folks there.

From my own observations it seems more an individual thing rather than a geographic element.

Has anyone else noticed any specifics?

I'd rather wonder about climate. Are people more ticklish in places where the climate is cooler or warmer....Toronto v. Florida....etc.

im not sure 'bout being ticklish, but i know in warmer places like california and florida, you have more tickle "opportunities"
mostly because people are more likely to wear belly-shirts and sandals and sleeveless shirts and tickle spot exposing clothes like that.

I've not noticed where geography plays much of a role in tickling interests. There are folks in the cold north, high in Canada, that have this interest. There are folks near the equator, with websites about tickling.

Ticklephiles were found by SY in Hawaii.

Found a number of them, myself, setting up an event in London. One of the ladies there was from Scotland, originally. One of the gents was from Germany.

We know there's folks in Japan that play this, 'cause of the websites there. There's other locations in the far east with ticklephiles, one of whom attends my events here. The man has money enough to travel a LONG way to be with his own. If I had the means, and not the proximity, I'd do likewise.

It's easier to investigate ticklishness and tickling where there's exposure to such, sure, and that's what makes temperate climes seem appropriate. Truth is, there appears to be a will for it everywhere. The only thing we're discoverin', more and more, is that the quiet areas happen to be those that aren't web-connected. Keep in mind that all of us found AMT and the TMF, and their predecessors, through online purposes. Only a handful of those that found such via magazines, like TickleChgo, are around still, online. In his case, he hosts events.

We're everywhere, it seems.

I have thought about this too...

I have wondered what is our common link to tickling...
I have gone too 2 NESTS and 1 or 2 Hyena's Gatherings.
And I looked around the room to see if I could find some common thread among the people there just by looks. I saw every color of skin there, every body type, every hair color, every tickling device ever concieved...oh wait...drifted again.
And I could not determine a common link, which in my opinion is very cool.
But what is common to everyone I have every met or talked to is that
at first they thought they were the only ones who liked tickling...alot.
And they were SOOO releaved to find out their were more people that liked tickling or being tickled.
I still remember pulling down the Leg Show magazine and seeing an article on tickling. First I was just surprised their was a magazine based on legs. But to then browse and find a tickling article, geez my eyes were glued to every word!!!😱

I think that it is just personal. Because two people in the same city could be at a much different level of ticklishness.
