The next part of all of this came as a result of the NEST Gatherings. For those who have had the fortune of attending these events, they can all attest to the fact that there is a euphoria that takes place that is so intense and so wonderful that many people actually go through a crash and burn for weeks after it is over.

Max

I experienced the "magic" that is NEST this past year. Maybe there are those who attend simply for a "cheap feel" but the true euphoria occurs when you have the chance to meet those who truly UNDERSTAND whom you would have never met otherwise. I have an incredible memory of driving back from the gathering itself in my car with Max and LeeAllure discussing what our ideal utopia might look like.

I know I cried when I left. I'd made life long friends I needed to let go of for an entire year. Although a few might have seen me since then. :Kiss1: I experienced this complete crash and burn. "empty nest syndrome" is a remember correctly.

Being with those who get it is a big part of gatherings. You don't really need to play at all in order to get something out of it. The people are so great! And, you aren't alone with the "empty nest syndrome". I think most of us get that. Fortunately, the forum and other venues keep us from having to let go completely. :cuddle:

Keep talking that way and you're going to make me cry. Is it really that intense? Guess I'll never know.

thanks, I needed that today more than you'll ever know. :cuddle:

And to Hiryu... it really is like that. NEST last year was my first gathering, I was terrified attending it! But what was even better than all of the tickling (although there is no doubt that is sooooo fun) was the incredible people I met. My roommate and I spent four days in Philly and I made lifelong friends. We have SOO much more in common than this fetish... it's truly remarkable. So the last morning there before we all went back to our "vanilla lives" we met at a diner that is the tradition for many NESTees. Drew was tickled by the waitress... I was trapped between Jeff and Trixie and Max at the breakfast table. When it was time to leave tears were pouring down my face... how could I meet such incredible people and then leave them? It is SO intense.

So the idea of a tickling "cult" is really something describing an idea utopia. Where you are surrounded by people who "understand" regardless of what the rules are. Yeah, there is tickling and that's great but what it bring besides that is almost a level of higher being? Sound cheesy? I'm sure it does. But I also know that the moment when I had to leave my new found friends at the parking lot I would have done a whole heck of a lot to stay with them.

Maybe someday. I'm just not ready yet. I have some issues to deal with first.

Idea

Greetings fellow like-minded friends

I have been gone over a year and now I'm back to visit our happy little famly, which used to be little. Now I see almost 40000 members - WOW!

Anywayz, just to add my 2-cents: It is mentioned that this would have an element of spirituality in it. That's why I say that in addition to "punishment" sessions, why not have sessions that are similar to massage, spiritual upliftment, healing, soul serching etc as I'm sure tickling could accomplish such benifits plus more!

Just my 2-cents - tell me what you guys and gals think!

TA :cool2:

I'm pretty new here and I've just been browsing through old posts. This one really caught my eye. Whatever became of this idea? Did you guys try anything out in real life? Or is it that if you told me, you'd have to induct me? 🙂

This has lain fallow for quite a while now.

Is anyone still pursuing it?
If any organizationasl work is being done, I volunteer to fill the office of
General Amanuensis and Factotum In Chief.
(That's a fancy title for the guy who does all the unglamorous detail work that no one else really wants to do.)
with the amount of time I spend here, I might as well.

Let's just say the idea isn't dead. 😉 It's just going to take time, money and proper planning to make it happen the way it's been envisioned. Don't worry! We'll let folks know!

This idea should die the death of a dog! I couldn't possibly wish you all more failure in the creation of this dangerous concept.

Oookay... Is that sarcasm, or true disdain? I could understand reservations resulting from envisioning a backlash against the tickling community in the event of something going wrong and/or public with such a "cult", but your statement is hyperbolic enough that I can't tell if you're joking.

Truth be told, as intriguing as the idea sounds to me, it also sounds like any number of "clubs" and such my sister in I wanted to start when we were kids -- that is, a lot of optimism and dreams of utopia, and even some organization, but little follow through or consideration of pitfalls and roadblocks.

Then again, we never really tried to make a religion... There are certain benefits to it, like tax exemption...

But there are other questions:

Where would be the first "house of worship" or temple? Or would there be one?

What would be the privileges of higher ranks above lower ones? Would the benefits be strictly organizational and decision-making in nature, or would the elites ascend to hold a tickling version of "prima nocte", reserving the right to execute the first "penances" of initiates or somesuch? Just how far would the power of those in charge extend, and what would keep it in check? As a firm believer in equality, and possessing a healthy skepticism of the judiciousness of ranking structures, power, and elitism, I and others like me might be loathe to join such proceedings, contingent upon the reach of the leaders above that of those "beneath" them.

Of course, such concerns only need be addressed if this idea is to be taken seriously... And far be it from me to piss on a good idea, but I think attention should be paid to potential drawbacks in every plan, no matter how lofty its ideals.

I started another thread as a caution to those who are serious about starting an actual "Cult," not a club. It started out in my mind as a tongue-in-cheek thing, but then as I was writing it, it occurred to me that the principles being written about weren't simple fun.

Its not supposed to be disdain for anyone in particular, just toward the idea of a "cult." I figured since no one else was saying anything other than the usual "me too" drivel, I'd play the devil's advocate. It's not always the most popular stance to take, but it sure beats standing around playing circle-jerk about what a great idea it is without the benefit of scrutiny.

ok guess i was wrong...big shock...i can see where you are coming at however.. yes a cult depicts certain connatations that aren't necessarily a good thing..
