Tickling dating website? How many would use it?

Just throwing this out there. But fetlife is free and more along the lines of what you are after. I have seen a few of you on there already!

Maybe check that out. I haven't necessarily had any luck there, but I'm also not putting forth much of an effort.

Okay... I'll be the spoil sport.

Every party needs a pooper right?

If it was for serious folks who actually wanted to find a lifemate/partner then I'd give a hesitant nod.
But I'd be suspicious that some folks would use it on false pretenses to meet for tickles then move on to the next person never intending to settle down with anyone, but using it for the opportunities it would give them that they would not have had otherwise.

Kinda along the lines of a player using a site like Match.com just to get laid once in a while.

From what I remember, Tickle Match was an honest and sincere or at least intended to be, dating site service for those who were into tickling and looking for life partners who shared the passion for tickling.

The site itself had flaws. The person running it did not think it all the way through and really didn't keep up and deal with the problems then just gave up.
I offered to take the site over for him but it crashed big time and few took it seriously at the time.
Never heard back from him and the site totally disappeared.

You raise an excellent point.

Every hook-up site, whether vanilla or fetish-oriented, has the danger of creeps just looking for a one-nighter or being otherwise less than savory. Hell, look at Collarme.com (shudder)....still, I've seen such a system work and work well. It requires not being free unfortunately (many assholes are allergic to paying to place an ad, I dunno why) and a bit of screening, but it can be done with some success. I originally met Adam through such an ad in a spanking publication in 1998, Stand Corrected (right before they went online), and I know plenty of other couples who met that way as well, I've met them at the Shadow Lane events in CA and Vegas. These were all 'good' ads, that actually described the person and talked about more than the kink; one or two line ads weren't allowed, and it was a good thing. While there were many more male ads than female, MANY females were reading those ads without placing one themselves, myself included, for reasons already stated. But we were definitely there and we were reading and looking. I am **not** saying it's the same thing, frankly I've learned that we tickling folk are more reclusive and private than spanking people, but I still believe a well-done and properly monitored personals place (not necessarily a whole site) could yield good results. I would absolutely use such a place if I were remotely single.

And fellas? Enough of this "girls have it easier because they have sooo many guys to choose from" malarkey. Choosing between fools and clowns isn't much of a choice; if you're a good, sexy man among nasty little boys and your ad reflects that you'll stand out, trust me 🙂

Best. Line. Ever.

Well, having used both free and paid dating for the better part of a decade, I have to both agree and disagree.

I'm not ugly. I'm college-educated, literate, successful, and write ads that are funny and smart. (I'm not just tooting my own horn, here; both respondees and people I've run the ads by agree that they're leagues better than the average ad).

And yet, it really depends on the site. I was on Plenty of Fish for the better part of four years - I got less than one date a year. I did better on OK Cupid, in that people actually wrote back to me once in a while. I have the best luck on Craigslist, but even then it's still pretty hit and miss; the best ad in the world will often get you twelve porn bots and maybe two tentative responses, and of those, both will most likely disappear once you send them your picture. And that's not even taking into consideration they may not be your cup o' tea!

Way I see it, if no one is interested in you it doesn't matter how good your ad is. I honestly think neither sex has it 'better' on dating sites; women get tons of hits, but the signal to noise ratio is ridiculously low. Men get few to no hits at all, so ultimately it evens out in that no one is actually meeting anybody.

That said, despite being really hit and miss, sometimes you do hit the jackpot. I met an absolutely amazing woman last week on Craigslist. She's gorgeous, she's smart and funny, she's into tickling, she loves that I have a foot fetish, and we're totally diggin' one another. As obnoxious as it sounds... persistence. And the occasional bit of self-improvement and self-reflection doesn't hurt, either.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I will never pay for a dating site. The online dating biz is absolutely overloaded with scams, generally aimed at men; if you think about it, their business model is aimed at keeping you there, not actually matching you. Sites send fake winks, don't delete dead profiles, and use misleading advertising. Then, once they've got your credit card, they make it nearly impossible to cancel. It's not even remotely worth it. Several sites were sued for deceptive practices last year, although I don't know what the outcome of the cases were.

The site itself had flaws. The person running it did not think it all the way through and really didn't keep up and deal with the problems then just gave up.

You remember correctly, Ed. He had good intentions and a lot of enthusiasm. But, with the combination of lack of advance planning, the limitted programming available at the time and people not really looking at it as a viable opportunity, it fizzled before it ever really got going.

If anyone is interested in seeing what was there, here are the links to the archived locations of the site (the first is better)...

It just wouldn't work, IMO.
There are so many factors that would have to go into it ...
and like someone else said there is FetLife.com which is pretty
much the same thing.
I've told people on FetLife about my tickling fetish and they
WANT to tickle me. So it doesn't even matter really if they aren't
into tickling ... unless, of course, you want someone who has the
exact same fetish as you.

I don't put a lot of stock in sites "specifically designed for people looking for people". I try to view them all as just websites where people go and interact. Now-a-days they are designed for more then just 'getting to know' people. With tests and quizzes and other things that don't really speak much to the main "purpose".

So, it would be relatively academic either way. This site alone has brought and started plenty of good relationships and some marriages as well. So I think what we have here, as dysfunctional at times as it may be seems to work just fine.

I'd use it, provided it were free. Honestly, I wouldn't expect much, which is ESPECIALLY why I'd never pay for such a site... If the odds are against you when it's free, they'll be more so if they have to PAY to be disappointed...

So I'd say if you do go with it, it has to at least start out free, and if it flourishes then maybe you could make it pay... But then you've only fucked over the people already there. I donno, it's touchy, but no, I'd not use it unless it was free, unless it just happened to be full of success stories, in which case I might, MIGHT consider it...

I would so sign up, although I think I may be more into feet than tickling...ok stop your booing..
