Tickling episode on "Beverly Hillbillies"

I happened to be channel surfing late last night and came across TVLand and the Beverly Hillbillies were on and just happened to catch the following F/M scene below. I checked the schedule and it doesn’t look like the episode is scheduled for anytime the rest of this month, but for those that are interested take note of the episode name and number so you can catch it the next time around.

“Jed Saves Drysdale’s Marriage”

Scene:

Pearl (Jethro’s Mother) is mistakenly under the impression that Mr. Drysadale is looking to have a relationship with her. Mr. Drysdale comes over to see Jed, everyone has left and Pearl is the only one home and is dressed in her best courting attire (knowing that Mr. Dysdale is coming over). Pearl invites Mr. Drysdale into the Parlor and proceeds to tell him how a good wife should treat a husband. She sits him in a chair and then props his feet on the coffee table and takes his shoes off. Mr. Drysdale doesn’t really know what’s going on and is just flattered at the attention. Pearl then goes to play on the piano and sing, Mr. Dysdale can’t take Pearls singing, he stops her before she gets started (A funny scene).

Pearl then sits him back down and notices that he has a hole in one of his socks, (This is where things get good) she grabs his ankle and starts to take off the sock to sew it for him. She obviously tickles his foot while taking the sock off, Mr. Drysdale laughs and squirms as she is doing this (good reaction). She removes the sock and then looks at him and says, “Why Mr. Dysdale…You are ticklish.” He agrees.

Mr. Drysdale now embarrassed because of what the Clampets would think if they saw him here alone with Pearl, tries to get the sock back from her. A short tug of war scene takes place and Pearl says, “oh I know how to get you”. And proceeds to rib and tummy tickle Mr. Dysdale. He laughs and jumps around as she does this for several minutes, the Clampets come back and hear the commotion in the parlor and peek in and see Pearl tickling Mr. Dysdale and watch him laugh and squirm around trying to put his sock back on.

A good tickle scene if you can catch it on TVLand some time.

Of course, I’m still hoping that I’ll catch an episode in which Ellie Mae gets a good tickling down by the cement pond. LOL

Please do not leave no matter how many Gilligan's Island posts appear in response to your earlier message. I am personally in need of laughter at this time, and your comments in the balloon thing were good enough to <I>still</I> keep me laughing, and I saw them more than two hours ago. In fact, I couldn't get through it the first time. I had to stop and come back.

I really don't know why. In real life, I know that what you posted is not the least bit funny, but for some reason it just struck me as funny, exactly at the time I needed to read something like that.

Hold it ! Wait a minute ! Everybody in the whole wide world, stop !

There <I>was</I> a tickling scene on Gilligan's Island where Gilligan was tickled by some island tribal women who were there to prepare him for marriage to the chief's daughter. Somebody somewhere ! Post those clips ! SuperTickler ! Start a website ! Somebody hurry up and register the domain name, "www.Gilligans-Gigglings.com" before someone else gets it.

Let's think; Gilligan's Island and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers should make for a great video. Throw in the Brady Bunch for mass appeal, with special guest: The Dukes Of Hazzard. Can't wait for those clips !

I remember seeing that episode, many years ago, likely in the 1960's. At the time, I thought that it would be wonderful to be tickled by the young and beautiful Ellie Mae, but it was too bad that the script made Pearl the tickler.

Ellie Mae, in several episodes, was shown to fond of wrestling, and ready to take on all comers, male or female. I had fantasies of being pinned by her, and then tickled mercilessly.

For the kind words. I plan on sticking around for awhile and trying to add some humor wherever I can.

However, I have to break my own rule here. I can recall ANOTHER episode of "Gilligan's Island" where M/M "tickling" took place! There was an episode with some sort of witch doctor who had made voodoo dolls of the castaways. In one scene, he was tickling the feet of the Gilligan and Skipper dolls with a feather, and G&S were laughing off in the distance, without any apparent reason. I remember thinking, why oh why couldn't he be tickling the feet of the Ginger and Mary Ann dolls!

My theory is that, back in the '60s, tickling had the same sexual connotation that many of us ascribe to it today. It was OK to show a less-than-attractive man being tickled (a la The Three Stooges) because that was "funny" and "slapstick," but showing an attractive female being tickled would have been a little too "sexy" (which is why female tickling was mostly relegated to cartoon tickling, such as Olive Oyl). There were exceptions, of course (such as the classic "Avengers" scene in "How To Succeed At Murder," which made me weak in the knees when I first saw it--but it was British, not American, and "The Avengers" always had a risque edge to it), but it always depressed me as a kid when it was the men rather than the pretty women on a show being tickled. 😎
