Tickling when you first discover your liking of it vs now

So I look back at how I found out I liked tickling and that was watching the Howard stern show back in 2003?!? I believe it was. Where yaqi tickled the 2 girls. I was like this is great. Then I found sites like soticklish.com etc. I feel like the tickle industry was still new and it felt more amateurish and real to me like I could relate to it better.

Now I feel like it’s too not fake but like overdone. Or it’s all about feet and or like vibrator oriented. Or like about full nude. Which to me is distasteful and takes away from the clips now.

I may be totally off in my opinion but like I guess my question here is do you prefer tickling and its content when you first discovered it or to what it is now fully evolved?

This is an interesting question. Outside of the concept of content, I think I prefer the early days for some aspects (e.g. novelty), and now for other things (e.g. connectivity, events, and changes of perspective). For content, I've never been much of a fan of the tickling "industry", per se, but most content did used to feel more organic and passion driven to me. Admittedly, some of that is almost certainly colored by my own sense of nostalgia and the novelty the content offered at the time. Today, a lot of content feels like it follows a formula that makes it feel cheapened somehow. Nudity and sexuality interlaced with tickling does not necessarily feel distasteful to me, though it often can feel like a glaring element that really just feels out of place for many scenes as they are presented. I personally feel that tickling, as well as the broader kink world, has become overly commodified. Sometimes I get the same feeling with it as I would if visiting an amusement park or something similar–Everyone is trying to sell me something I don't want to buy, and most of the strategies feel like they are leaning on impulse marketing. I think much like most porn, today's tickling content leaves me feeling more awkward and disconnected than excited or satisfied. This is why I try to focus more on experience than observation. To me, tickling is something meant to be experienced. That being said, none of this is intended to be an attack on content producers. Everyone has their own goals and path to walk, and they're pursuing what's important to them.

I have a sweet nostalgia for the content I watched circa early 00s but I think I prefer content now. I feel like there’s more of it, it’s more amateur based and I like being able to interact with still active models.

I love reflecting back on things like this, for me I remember seeing tickle scenes in cartoons, particularly the April O’Neil one, and the Gummy Bears scene, and I remember being fascinated by it, to the point, where I would re watch the scene. I use to stay up, ready to record the scenes on VHS(yes VHS! That’s how long ago it was) after that. I remember thinking as a kid, so ‘that’s how you get adults to tell you what you want’ and I use to try it out on my baby sitter and friends of my mums lol.

After that, I use to write short stories, and they would always have tickle interrogation scenes in them. Of course, years passed, I learnt a lot more about the kink, did a lot of rp, and studied other tickle related content, to how I am now, fully aware of this kink, what I like, and embracing it, older, wiser but still have the love for it!

This might sound similar to Wicked. When I joined this site in 2002, the tickling industry as you call it was new, underdeveloped and like you I found it more relatable and organic. Tickling clips were more low key and tickle focused; think of most of ticklingparadise, the focus being tickling only. But not even just TP. I remember when I first watched one of those Kusuguri Rings clips from Japan, I would still love to see all those episodes one day... Or even those Japanese tickle battle clips, remember those? To echo what you said as well, I find it is quite overdone now and a bit too much focus is on the sexual aspect. Also, more readily available too, to quote what Wicked said about an amusement park.

Interesting question! Maybe from a different perspective but I wrote stories early on about some fun but goofy characters. Now as one having had more experiences I find it more difficult to capture the whole experience.

When it comes to so many things in life, it's really hard to top novelty, and by nature it doesn't last long. Fortunately, over the years my fetish has evolved and kind of reinvented novelty in some ways, but still nothing like the nostalgia of when I was young. For one thing, the first tickle videos I saw were on VHS and the models were mostly unattractive and the video quality was horrendous. Those things are so much better now! So much of the nostalgia has to do with how we feel about ourselves, just wishing we could be young and experience these things for the first time again, but for me the content is much better now than what it was when I first found tickling content, and because of the internet, so much more accessible! I don't miss having to physically go into an adult bookstore and taking the magazine or VHS up to the register for check out at all, or checking out the Playboy magazines at the regular bookstores wondering what the old lady behind the counter was thinking 😂
