hey everyone,

im thinking of getting a tattoo to immortalize my love of tickling forever! Im thinking of gettin something on my stomach with feathers as the design. Something very similar to the foto below but with the feather flipped around and the curve facing inward (like the design in the second pic). Im going to get 2 feathers...one on each side of my bellybutton.

What do u guys think? Should i go for something else maybe? Any suggestions are welcomed with open arms! :xpulcy:

Has anyone else gotten a tattoo to show their love for tickling? Plz share if u have 😀

Yeah if its something your sure you want then its a great idea,

i can prepare you with this, ive got a tattoo there and its the most painful ive ever got, but its worth it 😀

This topic was brought up not too long back, you may find it of intrest if you havent seen it already 🙂

Thanx for the link to that thread, i hadn't seen it yet. Its got heaps of useful stuff in there, very enlightening. I feel like a bit of a doosh bringing the topic up again now lol.

And here i was thinking my feather idea was an original one! :jester:

A tatt as you described would look DAMN HOT!!! :dogpile:
I'd certainly tickle you there. :devil2:

You look awesome just the way nature made you. I think a tattoo would only distract from your sinuous curves and smooth-looking skin (I'm assuming that's really you in the photo!)

Tattoos have been called a bigger committment than marriage--I would encourage you to think long and hard about something you might regret 5, 10, or 20 years from now!

I know I'm in the definite minority here, but you certainly deserve to hear an alernate point of view. Every woman has her own beauty and I like to explore that beauty--whether through tickling, worshipping, photographing, or other enjoyments. You look adorable and so ticklish, I can't imagine anything that would enhance that cuteness.

Yours,
TT

I agree, I would advise you not to do it.

My wife has a tattoo of a feather that points to the arch of her foot..she did that for me when we started tickling..i mean dating..lol.awesome!

Thanks so much for the responses guys. Especially the alternate points of view from tikltoy and Jeff. Its given me something to think about 🙂

I think the tatt would look great, but i am starting to see that its a lifelong choice that will have pros and cons either way.

I will ponder this a bit more lol. There's plenty of time to decide, im not going to rush into anything just yet 😀

There are always temporary tattoos and henna art. That way you can try different designs, see how you really feel about it, and see what other people think (if you happen to care about their opinion).

Who knows, soon you might meet the perfect marriage-quality guy; and he might be grossed out by tattoos, in which case you'll be glad you don't have one; or, like some of the other responders here, he might love them, in which case you can get one! Just more logic for you.

Good luck in your decision!

TT

I would never get a tattoo to commemorate my love of tickling. Tickling is something I share with those I'm involved with and I wouldn't want to explain the tattoo to just anyone. You seem young, I'd recommend thinking about the tattoo very seriously before going "under the needle."

After all, tattoos ARE permanent, painful and expensive to remove, and if you don't get a qualified artist, can come out looking like shit.

Personally, if I could go back in time, I'd have no tattoos. I'm of the opinion that the female body looks perfect without any markings.

Wow, that was a really brave and open thing to say. I've read the forum for years, and I've seen some photos you've posted (sorry if that freaks you out or bothers you, but I'm kind of shy and never felt like I had much to say, until bursting on the scene recently; and you're a very active poster so you're more visible to regular readers), and I figured you'd be a real tattoo fan from the looks of things. You're also a beautiful young lady, as far as I can tell, and the tats don't change that; but I've thought in the past that you'd look wonderful just the way you were born.

Thanks for sharing that as a woman who has tats. As a man who doesn't, I wasn't sure if my perspective carried much weight.

best to you,
TT

I was at least smart enough to get tattoos that would always make sense to me and represent who I am. As I got older I realized a bit too late that skin is beautiful without all the needlework. I would never get my tattoos removed and I support the decision for others to make, but I think there's a reason that near 85% of people that get tattooed are relatively young. They live in the now, in the moment, and don't take the time to really understand the repercussions.

You really gotta think stuff like this through.

I agree that you should try something out temporarily before you make such a permanent decision. I think you look perfect the way you are and you might regret it after a while.

Don't do it.

lawl. I read this title really fast and thought it said 'Ticklish Twatt'.

Thanks so much for your honest opinions. 🙂 I'm a lil less keen on the idea now, as i have herd many people, not just on the forum, say they've regretted getting tattoos at a young age.

The tatt wasnt just going to be in honour of my love of tickling. I did quite abit of research on feather designs prior to posting this thread and the american indian feather represents spirituality and bravery, among other tribal symbolisms, which i quite liked the idea of (along with its more personal tickling symbolism for me.)

I would only tell my close partners the "2nd meaning" of the tattoo ie. the tickling side of it. For anyone else who inquired, i would tell them about the american indian significance.

If i do ever go through with getting tattoos i wouldnt just get any old thing for the sake of looking "cool" or "badass" as most young ppl do. I would like my tatts to have a special and personal meaning to me, something i am proud to share with those who inquire about them. Tasteful body art if u will.

Just curious, does anyone think angelina joile's tattoos are tasteful?? Personally i do. Very much so. That's along the lines of what im aiming for with mine. Something unique and out of the norm but still artistic and tasteful. Id never get as many as her. Just using her as an example. Comapring her body art to the likes of Amy Whinehouse's tatts for example 😀

Happy New Year guys!! 2 hours and counting down here in Aus!

P.s ROFL to CrystalLight's ticklish "twatt" mis-read!! 😛

Well tbh, i h8 tattoos. I think they ruin the look of the body. So plz dont get one, is all i can say lol. :fingerscrossed: 😉

I would ask you to consider the implications of getting a permanent tattoo around your navel. It might look Ace for 1 yr, or 2 yrs, or 10 yrs, but at some point, you might wish that you didn't have one.

Maybe it's because i'm not into the whole appeal of the tattoo, but a few years ago, tattoos were associated with drunken sailors and women of dubious standing in society. Sure, they've been VERY fashionable for a while now - but how long will this last?

I would probably say "go for it", it it was going to be on an ankle, or something small and cute on the wrist maybe.

I would also say go for it, if you were going to have an arbitrary symbol around the navel, or a nice design on the base of yours spine.

I don't think a feather on your cute abdomen would look too good. But maybe I am in the minority.

It's your body, go with what makes you happy 🙂

I think that would be such a sweet idea! :aww: But I agree with other people, but it on your lower tummy, maybe on the left side or something. Might be a little obvious there :blush2: But I bet on your shoulder blade of your back would be great!

Body art of any type is a very personal choice with many things to consider. The placement of it on the body may be effected over time. It may loose its meaning with time, or it may come to mean something else to you. The visibility of it in certain places could impact your future career. Be sure to consider these things before making your decision.

Body art has a very long relationship with spiritualism. Over the years, varying social groups have been identified with courting body art. While there will be some who will tell you they regret their body art decisions, there are many more who chose wisely for themselves and will testify to the spiritual nature of their adornment. My Love has five tattoos that he begun when he turned 40. All of them have an intense meaning to them, be they the spiritual ones he has, or the ones marking me and his children. I have not yet had body art applied to me, but I have a few significant pieces planned.

I will not be like some of the others here and tell you to do it or not to do it. I will only caution you to think carefully about your decision. Does the symbol mean something powerful to you? Can you envision yourself still happy with it when you are 40? Do you think the place you have chosen will be a location that you can cover easily if you begin a career where you must maintain a well kept appearance?

And side note... Honestly, don't worry about repulsing your "soul mate" or future partner with the tat. If they are to love you, they will love you and every part of you. If they are turned off by body art and that is the deal breaker for them, then that relationship was not to be. People will have preferences, but that is like a guy saying he really likes blonds more than the others, yet he can fall in love with a brunette.

Good luck on your decision!

...welllll... in gentle refutation of the two sort of common popular, er 'misconceptions' that
• People don’t get their first tattoos when they get ‘older’, and
• Younger people don’t have tattoos that really mean anything

I got my first ‘ink’ when I was 40. Melinda was about 30 when she got her first tattoo. Since we met in 1991 we’ve gotten a lot more. Most of our ink is at least conceived by ourselves, even if not actually scribbled out in rough by us, then finished by our tattooists. Melinda being adept at art herself actually drew a couple of hers.

I think the sad bit is that a lot of people don’t think their art all the way through before getting a permanent piece of dermal graphics. It’s not only a good idea to select art that truly holds some meaning for the wearer, and if you’re going to get more over time, begin to put together a theme or a plan for your art, so it all sort of “comes together”.

Tattoo art is such a side kink for us that we’ve even got the second generation involved. We bough M’s middle son Shawn a complete tattooing outfit to start working last year. We’d seen his artwork and felt he showed enough talent to support him with the equipment. As a matter of fact, the reason we missed NEST last year was that it conflicted with the Forged in Ink tattoo convention in Reading, and we took Shawn and his fiancé to it.

Today M and Shawn were over in Baltimore Maryland. Kat Von D (TLC Channel’s “LA Ink” television program) was in town at a book signing and Shawn wanted to get her to sign the book. Kat liked the drawing that Shawn gave her and said she’d try to get it up on her site in a couple of weeks, then M asked Kat (bringing this back on topic), “my husband is a tickle pervert and wants to know if you’re ticklish?” ( that was the story M just made up )

Kat said yes she is, in her armpits and feet.

M just got home a little while ago and told me about it.

So, our thoughts, yeah we’re pretty much skin ink addicts, but our simple advice is really think about what artistic motives really hold meaning for you, then go for it, since it will hopefully be around for a ‘long time’.

Oooo the shoulder blade! I like this idea Dove! I really do!
:headpat: hahaha

Thanks guys for all ur other replies too. Its really giving me something to think about, and i honestly believe my tattoo will turn out better thanks to all ur suggestions and thoughts on the matter.

This may work.... attempting to attach a couple of image files of tattoos to this note.
M's foot tattoo created 1992 when we met, photo taken in Maryland park circa spring 1995.
(Artist) Patty from Thinkin Ink, Morgantown, WV at the 2006 Richmond Tattoo Convention, extending the earlier vine up Melinda's ankle a bit.
The Fairy backpiece completed by Patty at Richmond 2003. Legendary Lyle Tuttle walked by when she was getting it done and remarked, "hey.. that's a really nice piece." M asked me later 'who' Lyle Tuttle was.
