Wanted to leave it here and back away, but my view is not that complicated, so I'll provide it. Should this thing branch out to "fetish robot" varieties, this could provide some solace/cheap thrills for those in our community with unfulfilled needs. However, the story's cautionary note about addiction is relevant, as is hazards of possessing this "object of affection" that gives you unlimited access to sex with a "being" anytime. It could re-wire a person's libido so that he or she would no longer be able to have human relationships ever again, as the robot user would be unable to deal with human emotions, needs, desires as expressed by flesh-and-blood partners, who would not be willing to become lifeless love machines.

Or have I over-thunk it?

No, not at all.
But I think that phenomenon has already started to manifest itself.
There are people whose fetish expectations are so high, so detailed, so specific... that no real relationship with a real person could fulfill them.
I've known some (not on this forum), and I've seen them piss away relationships with amazing people who only hit 90/100 of their sexual must haves.

No, not at all.
But I think that phenomenon has already started to manifest itself.

I've known some (not on this forum), and I've seen them piss away relationships with amazing people who only hit 90/100 of their sexual must haves.

I'm not surprised about that. I suspect most of us have some level of OCD, and hell, it may even be something on the autism spectrum. I have some rather specific preferences, though very few would be in "deal-breaker" territory. Ticklish feet (and a willingness/desire to be tickled/worshipped/pleasured there) would be probably my only deal-breaker in terms of a fetish-centered relationship.

Wow, you provided new perspective. I approached it only from a tickler's point of view, but yeah, the implications extend to ticklees' tastes as well, and over the years, I"ve come across much artwork and other media that involve tickling machines.

I don't think it has any connection to OCD or the autism spectrum (but that's my personal opinion); the people I was referring to were just incredibly selfish, whiny, entitled man-babies, who were given a lot of false expectations based on a steady diet of porn.
I don't there's anything wrong with deal-breakers (had my own, when I was dating). I'm thinking more in terms of people who expected their partners to act like programmable sexbots.

But then you'd have to deal with the "human error" element, lol!

A couple of years ago, I saw an article like this one about how they were making the robots to be more sensitive and physically responsive and then in parenthesis the writer added something like: "sorry, you're still not able to tickle them yet." Something like that. I was struck how that appeared in just a normal news article....and happy to know science is on the case! Of course, they don't even understand much about tickling in humans so I suppose that would be difficult to replicate in the robot.

Still, if they do manage to pull it off.....I think I'll take the brunette:

Well... to masturbate privately sometimes...or just enjoy being tickled whenever I want it. I'd love to wake up and be able to get up in the mornings and be tickled rather than have coffee lol!!

Also to be able to focus on the areas I would like to have focused on when I want it. And sometimes just to relax. My former Girlfriend for years use to tickle/ stroke my back every single night before I went to sleep and vice versa. I miss that. And to experiment sometimes at my leisure with various positions. Though I can't imagine technology being that flexible for years to come.

P.s The line of people waiting to tickle me is a long way off until my Bf is more comfortable with all of this.
