Tim Burton Rules! He has made so many awesome movies.Such as Coraline and Nightmare Before Christmas and there is one I cannot think of the name to.Ugh I hate when this happens.

When I first heard about this movie coming out - and produced by Tim Burton - I was MAJORLY pumped :ggrin: - But, when I saw the first preview for this in the theaters, I was actually a little bit disappointed. Chesire, I hope the character that your username embodies is as disturbing as I want it to be, regardless of whether or not that's how it's actually 'supposed' to be. :unsure
I also am slightly disappointed in how Depp ended up portraying the Mad Hatter, actually. I'm very enthralled by everything macabre (thus, Burton's been one of my big visionary), but this just seems to fall short of the movie I've envisioned in my head when I saw the first painting of him as the Mad Hatter. I hope I'm wrong, and that this all ends up disturbingly twisted, as I know I'll see it multiple times, likely. 😉
And yes, my favourite version of Alice currently is the unnerving stop-motion movie created by Czech artist Jan Svankmajer. SO freaky it's FANTASTIC!! I hope Burton creates another masterpiece, and that any romantic infatuation, or the like, between the Hatter and Alice, remains far far FAR away! That's just WRONG! - Even for me! The Disney Alice that I grew up knowing wouldn't end up locking lips with that flippin' weirdo (no matter how 'amusing' his antics may be :stickout).

Okay....last time...Tim Burton had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with Coraline...he didn't direct, produce, write or contribute to ANY of the artistic aspects of the movie.

Henry Selick directed both movies and while Burton wrote and produced Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline was both directed and produced by Selick himself with absolutely nothing to do with Burton.

Unfortunately people will always connect the two movies together and automatically assume Burton made both...the real tragedy here is that Selick will never get the acclaim he so richly deserves as a result 🙁

You know they did use Burton's name in previews, as a major selling point, right? If you're truly to be ticked off at anyone, I think it'd be the media employees who decided printing his name as a main creator, and mentioning it as frequently as possible, would be a good idea. ... :huh

Well actually they didn't....you've fallen victim to that classic brand name association imprinting...all they ever said was "From the Director of Nightmare Before Christmas" which IS true...Selick did direct that movie...but people automatically connect Burton with anything having to do with that movie which IMO I felt wasn't even that fantastic of a movie really.

...sure the wannabe goth hot topic crowd ate it up like candy for breakfast and beat the fandom like a dead horse but it really was just another average animated film....
