TMF Chatroom

I have tried several times to get into the TMF Chatroom without success . Every time I try to go in there I click on a a screenname and my computer freezes up. My labtop is very new I got it last year around holiday time. I have a Macintosh Apple computer and maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know. Does anyone else have problems getting in the chatroom and can anyone give me any advice on it? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, first thing: how easy is it for you to get the latest version of your web browser and java? Do they have a place to check for software updates somewhere in the program?

Myriads would probably be the best person to ask about this, jen. My advice would be to pm him, and ask. When I've had problems getting into the chat, it usually has been because of corrupted java, and he's told me to go to a site called www.sunmicrosystems.com, and download a new java. Usually, I've been told that when one cant get into the chat, it is because of the java. You can try that. If that doesnt work, you may have another problem, which hopefully Myriads can help you with. He's very knowledgable, and can usually solve most technical issues.

Thanks for both of your responses so far. I will look into it Mitchell and I will pm Myriads and see what he can do. The thing is, when I try to go into the chatroom it lists the people who are on there and when I click on a name, I have trouble chatting with that person. Thanks for the advice.

1) Use the newest version of the Safari Browser that should include the newest java for the mac, but you can also download a new plugin at Sun.com

2) Memory? Got enough? The chatroom is a memory hungry. If your machine is light (256meg of ram or less it will be hard up to run the room)

Great News!

I just wanted to let people know on this forum that I called and spoke with someone at Apple Tech. Support about having trouble entering the chatroom on this website. Anyway, I told him that I had e-mailed someone about this on the website and they suggested downloading the more recent Safari but they weren't aware that I had Safari already. Anyhow, I told him that my laptop is fairly new and that I received it during the 2004 holiday season.

Told him I had AOL and that what I should try to do is after going on AOL, then go to Safari and go the website on there. He said I should be able to enter the chatroom from there. Well I tried it and it worked. I am so happy that I am able to enter the chatroom now.

Hope to be able to chat with a lot of people on there.
