It seems like a lot of people post a picture and are never heard from again.Seems kind of odd to me unless they get to know people by private message or just lurk.But if all someone wants to do is lurk why post a picture?

I have sent pms to some new members who posted pictures,just something like hi i'm bugman,welcome to the forum etc.Never got one reply.I'm not complaning,i'm just curious about it.Has anyone else had a similar experience?Or have you gotten to know anybody this way?

I guess you are asking why people who have posted pictures of themselves in the members section don't respond to your welcomes, yes?
You are also wondering why a "lurker" would post a pic.
I don't have my picture posted in the members section. It's just a personal choice. I think it's like that with everyone...some post pics, and some don't. LOL
I have never gone through the member picture section, and randomly picked someone to pm. So, to answer your last question, no, I haven't pm'd anyone based on picture alone.

No luv,thats not it at all.No one is obligated to respond to a pm if they don't want to.My question was why some people post a picture and then don't take part in the forum.I just find that a bit odd myself.
 
ive wondered that myself from time to time.....my all time fave tickling model, priscila james, apparently joined here months ago, posted once, and was never heard from again.........she was verified as being legit by the mods as well........perhaps sometimes people joining and posting pics is a "spur of the moment" thing, and they regret thier descision soon after.......best answer i could come up with on short notice........

Oh. You were just simply asking why one would go to the trouble of putting his/her image in the members section, and then not participate.

On occasion, ill send a quick email to a new female member. i rarely get a response back though. :sowrong:
 
Chances are that if she's female, she's gotten a couple of hundred "Hi Welcome to the Forum" private messages, which might explain why they don't choose to participate. They're overwhelmed with welcoming hands reaching out to them.

I did consider that Drew and it makes more sense than anything else.Its a shame to because i'm guessing a lot of the pms they get are shall i say a bit intrusive.
 
Half are fake, a quarter to laugh at PM's, and the last bit that participate.

Fake- attention *****s.
To laugh at PM's- self confidence boost/making fun of others.
Last bit- taken. (mostly)

I haven't set a picture in yet, and I know what you mean bugman. Anyway, I've been debating on whether or not I should send in a pic ever since I delurked.

I KID! I'M A KIDDER! but as it's been said previously, it can be overwhelming with all the emails one can receive. especially if they are female.

wish i had a better answer for ya bugman my friend. and i do enjoy your sig maniac. i just like to tease every now and then.

I don't think that's weird, some people like having their picture on the internets but they might be nervous about participating in the community. What I find weird are the people who post pictures then spend their entire time on the TMF requesting pictures of anthropomorphic cartoon characters involved in much wrongness in the Artwork forum. Why would you want people to know what you look like if you have a fetish for seeing Sonic The Hedgehog being tickled by Doctor Robotnik?
 
buggy where is your picture???? seriously, have you seen some of those pictures from members who then never post? i'm thinking it ain't them..they post model pictures for some sort of strange reason...

that being said my picture is me lol....buggy can attest to that..however my hair is longer now..

and maniac hm.....you know you really are a nice guy...you pretend to be gross and disgusting and a lib hater...but i know the real you....don't forget i've seen you...hehe

My pic is in the members section and I sometimes post a thumbnail of me to make a point or have some fun. I do get some pm's from people I have not previously met, both male and female, and more responses to my pm's. I admit that I do get some unusual pm's but you have to take the bad with the good sometimes. I personally don't think it is my picture but what I have to say that makes people comfortable enough to talk.
